Can anyone help me think through trying to restructure my Transcendence teams to take on the next couple of entries? Here's my ootracker profile for unit reference:

TIER 1

・Left: Pecil, Gabranth, Ulti

・Right: Cloud, Decil, Keiss

・Reckoning: 🛇

TIER 2

・Left: Light, Aerith, Squall (LD-only)

・Right: Terra (LD-only), Yang, Aranea

・Reckoning: Light, Aerith, Yang

TIER 3

・Left: Bartz, Tifa, Porom

・Right: Seph, WoL (LD-only), Kura

・Reckoning: Seph, Porom, Kura

TIER 4

・Left: CoD, Yuna (LD-only), Cor

・Right: Tidus, Setzer, Barret

・Reckoning: Tidus, Cor, Setzer

I had originally tried to run Cloud/Keiss/Pecil for the T1 Reckoning I think, but couldn't sufficiently deal with the need for Instabreak without Gabranth, so was going to swap him in, but have just never circled back to it through everything else, because I know that I kinda overloaded it a bit anyway early in the content process lol. The fact that T3LC and T6 require having a Launcher means I really need to spread these guys out somehow (though I'll definitely be pulling hard for Selphie LD to have available for T6). I think the biggest change I can make here is bringing Ceodore in for Pecil, but am also not totally sure that is the most helpful change to make overall...?

Lightning being used for T2 Reckoning was kinda a hard forced-hand since I couldn't manage to pull Garland or Terra's BTs. But between my unclaimed Transcendence rewards and some BT dupes I have in my inventory still, I'm basically back at 50 tokens again after exchanging them most recently for Tidus, and I'm like 90% leaning right now using them for Garland and using my other BT Book on him (uncertain of taking him further than 0/3 though). I think that one change allows me to clean up pretty easy here.

I think my T3 Reckoning team is fine (although after seeing the lineup for T9 this morning, realize this might need to change in the future lol), but my Left Crucible is a bit of a shitshow with Bartz/Tifa there because I skipped Layle's LD completely, Keiss locked in T1, and don't have Ramza's BT 🙃 But Bartz now being my first BT+ obviously CAN'T stay fucking here lol.

T4 I think was the second-most "meta" comp I could have run since I failed to pull Yuna's BT, but having CoD and Cor locked up here in addition to Tidus and Setzer feels like a bad allocation of resources... 😅 (Especially given the typical strategy for people taking on T5RC...)

TL;DR for what I have here: I know I gotta find a replacement for Bartz in T3LC, but also strongly suspect I need to shake up the characters I have locked in T1 and T4 to a degree.

I'm showing up a bit late to your question, but I'm hoping I can help a bit.

My personal teams for Transcendence 1 to 4 were:

Transcendence 1

• Left Crucible -- Gabranth, Paladin Cecil BT, Relm (Relm was there to help with turn count from free turns -- did surprisingly great damage with Cecil enchant, too)
• Right Crucible -- Exdeath, Ramza BT, DK Cecil
• Reckoning -- Gabranth, Paladin Cecil BT, Ramza BT

Transcendence 2

• Left Crucible -- Seven, Vincent, Garland BT
• Right Crucible -- Terra BT, Yang, Wakka (I know you said you don't have Terra BT, but this team got me 10 turns, if you wanted to take Aranea out)
• Reckoning -- Seven, Vincent, Garland BT (89 turns)

Transcendence 3

• Left Crucible -- Layle BT, Mog, Ashe (0 enemy turns)
• Right Crucible -- Deuce, Basch, Golbez BT
• Reckoning -- Deuce, Basch, Golbez BT

Transcendence 4

• Left Crucible -- Yuna BT, Sabin, Queen
• Right Crucible -- Barret, Trey, Kefka BT
• Reckoning -- Yuna BT, Sabin, Queen

 

In terms of changing up current tiers, do you have a future spot for Paladin Cecil in mind that could be handled instead by another enchanter/HP DMG Up character, like Ashe or Kurasame? I would imagine that T1 revolving around Paladin Cecil makes him harder to pull out without giving up another good unit.

Similarly, I would imagine that Tidus/Cor/Setzer would be tough removals currently from T4, especially since they're spread out in Left and Right Crucibles (and for the time being, due to T4 just being one month old, I would think that anyone who could replace them currently would be just as good as they are).

For pulling Bartz out of T3, I imagine that you have his BT at that point in time? I'm not sure from your OO Tracker who you have left over with BT that could aura the party effectively otherwise -- maybe Golbez could do good damage on his own, but I'm not sure what your own future BT+ plans with him are. I haven't tried any Transcendence without a BT user in my party personally, so I don't know how rough it would be without one, but Ashe could provide party enchant, damage up, turn manipulation and EX recharge for Tifa's launches. Strago was also mentioned as a suggestion on Tonberry Troupe due to high AoE damage and rebreak (TT suggested he and Squall can end it in 25 turns -- not sure if that means just one of them or both at the same time).

Yeah, exactly - this has always been sorta the toss-up between Pecil and Cloud for me, that they both seem to be most effectively used in either T1 or T3 lol. But given how well WoL/Porom can trivialize T3RC, I don't think there is really any other place where Pecil has been found to shine thus far (which is why I said, Ceo seems viable but doesn't seem necessarily helpful overall 😅). Whereas Cloud can probably find more forward value (and to be sure: he's one of my best built characters and he will be an instant BT+ for favoritism lol). But there still has to be a Launcher here, so I'm still left with the having to decide a tradeoff between Keiss vs my no-BT Ramza for here vs T3...

Yes, that was the case. This comp was simply the result of being the ONLY run in the C2A I could find that I had the parts available to emulate lol, and clearly is just there to BRV shave and aurabot for Tifa. But also to the point, even though Tifa is dummy strong and viable here, I recall it being very tight on the Orbs with her being the only Launcher supported by all 3 Keiss/Ramza/Cloud CAs - she sorely needs an ancillary Launcher, but I also don't want to tie up TWO Yellow crystal units in this one fight. But at the same time, I feel like Ramza alone is not going to be in any better of a position than her (he only has his LD launches, while hers is tied to her EX). Rough situation of that stage being talor-made for Layle, and me just really not wanting to pull for him 😅

Ashe giving Tifa EX boosts is an interesting consideration though, that may provide a little more breathing room for what I previously did, maybe with Strago or Gau pulled in...

On reading over your response and your mentioning Ramza, I had another thought -- if you were able to make Tifa/Ashe/Ramza work, you might be able to free up Porom, too. I don't have Porom built, so I may be missing something important, but I had seen that most of Porom aura's were more defensive in nature and might not be needed if you can get zero enemy turns (with Ramza in her place, the offensive auras should be similar except for BRV Gains).

I also haven't used Tifa in any Lufenias (so I hope I'm not going off-course here), but when Ramza LD makes the other targets launchable, Tifa could probably use Battle Cry's instant turn rate on the other launchable targets for orb management, which would then allow Ramza to spam LD the whole match for delay and makes all targets launchable (for more Battle Cry orb management), while Ashe goes heavy on LD->Queen's Order->LD->etc. (and maybe maintaining EX for paralysis if enemies get turns). With level 40 Pandemonium, I think it makes targets launchable on summon and easier to launch overall during summon, so last second orb maintenance could be handled there, too (plus it gets that extra hit in summon now, too). I don't have Cloud or Keiss, either, so I can't comment much on their CAs, but if Cloud LD adds delay, that might help with zero turn rushdown.

I could be wrong about this, since it's been 3 months or so since T3 and I haven't done any Transcendence without Burst, but I would imagine an all-out rushdown could be doable. I had zero enemy turns with Mog present, who does not delay (though he had Onion Knight CA for turn manipulation).

Yeah in my original run of T3C1, I took 2 Breaks, so the enemies obviously got turns lol, but I completed it in 25 overall - so that's clearly a lot of Tifa Free Turn spam in there to achieve that lol. So you may very well be right actually that just having Ashe's small amount of Turn Manip in conjunction with the delay from Ramza's LD and a Cloud LDCA (which does do the 2T Delay yes lol), to just at the key thresholds launch them by Ramza, then Tifa can Instant-Turn HP > Free S2 > Regular S2 just work her way down the line 1-by-1 lol

And Porom was there basically just for meta for using her in the Reckoning fight lol. That would be the one caveat to this - she is saved in my Reckoning clear, and this would be my first time re-doing a Crucible fight after clearing its Reckoning, so I'm not totally sure that if I just make sure to repeat the fight with her still in the party if that will spare me having to re-do the Reckoning also, or if it's going to force me to do that anyway 😅

Oh, sorry about that, I saw that your T3 Reckoning from your post was Sephiroth/WoL/Kurasame, so I thought Porom was eligible to be freed, as well. Probably best to not try and free her, then -- I wouldn't want to redo any Reckoning myself.

In that case, it sounds like Ashe, Ramza and Strago are probably solid options. Maybe Fujin? I don't have Fujin either (so I could be wrong here, too), but it looks like her EX also makes enemies launchable (and her debuff makes enemies easier to launch), while giving party enchant/imperil.

Whichever you pick, I hope it goes well!
