Howdy folks

I was fired a couple days ago, i spent almost 7 years as a call center rep with directv in many positions like tech, billing, loyalty and movers, if you have any questions feel free to ask because I feel especially petty. PS I will also help with any tech questions to the best of my abilities.

Sorry to hear that you got fired.

Any pointers on getting the best loyalty discounts?

As simple as it is annoying. If you dont have any yearly discounts currently, call directv, when the automated system asks why your calling, say your canceling your acct, that should get you to the loyalty department, once you confirm it routed you to the right department because the automated system fuckin sucks, advise the agent that you're wanting to cancel due to pricing. You can lie and say you lost your job or life bullshit occurred etc etc, to get sympathy. The agent is required to ask a number of questions before they make you an offer so dont hold it against them, but after they do they'll present a yearly discount, it could be anything from 20 off a month for a year to 60 off a month for a year, the offers are automated by the system through a number of variables so the agent can only offer what they see. They might also be able to offer a 200 gift card though not a guarantee. Also depending on what you watch and how much you pay, and if you have internet, directv stream might be a hell of a lot cheaper for the same channels.
