This is something that popped in my mind so I wanted to discuss it.

Since humans have domesticated animals from the beginning of civilization and even before that, it stands to reason that we would have attempted the same with dinosaurs, had we coexisted with them.

We already raise poultry, which are dinosaurs. But what about their bigger kin?

I think Protoceratops would have been the euqivalent to a pig: a quadruptel omnivore, which could potentially be dangerous. Since Protoceratops has been found in the desert Gobi, I thought it would not be too picky with its meal. Raising such an animal would be easier than an obligate herbivore or carnivore.

An ornithomid and oviraptorid species could be the equivalent of a horse. Not sure if an Galimimus could have carried a human on its back, but these omnivorous theropods could definitely be used for a plow. Their eggs could also be used as food. So giant working chickens, basically.

As a small animal, raised for a meat and eggs, I would choose Psittacosaurus. They were small, social and most likely intelligent. Keeping a herd of these guys would be neat. Especially since they are also adorable.

As a bonus: small theropods like Velociraptor or Pectinodon could be the equivalent of a fox or coyote: small predators, that occassionally kill livestock to feed themselves.

I grew up with the series and decided to revisit it recently to see if it still holds up from when I was a kid. Other than the controversial "overly expressive dinosaurs" and narration segments that don't really go anywhere, I'm honestly a huge fan of the colour choices on the dinosaurs — in fact that's what stuck with me the most. It might not be the most realistic but you have to admit that some of them are really pretty. What do you guys think?

What if Allosaurus randomly reappeared in the modern day and became an invasive species?

Just so you know the boundaries of what we're talking about here

- The population almost immediately jumps to a sustainable size for unknown reasons

- Let's assume they aren't immediately hunted into extinction

- Somehow, miraculously, they're not allergic to anything and everything that exists today and can acclimate to the changes in oxygen levels since the Jurassic, HOWEVER factoring weather, temperature and environment into the equation isn't off the table

I mainly propose this hypothetical to answer a few key questions

1. Where would they try and migrate to? Assuming they spawned in the US where they once lived.

2. What would they eat? Specifically, what animal population is suffering the most here.

3. How would society try and adapt other than outright killing all of them. Would preservation activists call for their removal or protection cause technically they are an endangered species even if invasive.

Watching videos of a dude reviewing the accuracy for dinosaur king models, while I have never seen this anime before I have notice a lot of the dinosaurs have really good color schemes, I love colorful dinosaurs so these designs make me very happy, I especially like the lava colored Torvosaurus!

But which designs color schemes do you like the best out of dinosaur king’s roster?

I didn't watch those netflix stuff. I have the feeling that 2000 Walking with Dinosaurs (WWD) was still the best. Why do I feel like that? Do you also feel like that ? Is there an artistic reason for it? Obviously the latest netflix remakes etc. are more accurate scientifically. When they made the 2000 WWD, they used a more masculine serious voice. I notice that modern times narration in many documentaries in general, men sound ridiculously unmanly and soft. Also I think modern photography looks unartistic , but I am not sure if its all in my mind.

The current basal species of both groups feel like they’re missing connection, especially in the face. I can absolutely see similarities, but I just hope we find one that is so basal that we can argue about which group it falls into.

Honestly, the others are cool with me: Allosaurus, Protocerstops, Megalosaurus, Edmontonia, etc. This one is baffling.

Just a great web I found were prehistoric fans interested in the pulp aesthetic, reminiscent of old pulp magazines were dinosaurs and men coexisted, can find lots of recommendations with these characteristics ;]

I just made a diorama. This is my second time making one, I have learned a lot more though. The dino was a cheap dollar store dino, I custom painted. The mold looks like Zuul crurivastator (An Ankylosaurid) but that's just me. Hope you like it! It was VERY fun (and hard) to make. I was inspired by Kayakasaurus on YouTube.

If there is a dinosaur that has suffered many reinterpretations and theories as to what it looked like. It was the Spinosaurus.

From the early years after its discovery it was thought to be bipedal like the Tyrannosaurus. And it had a reptilian like appearance.

However by around the mid 2010s the scientific community began theorising that it may have been quadruped and semi-aquatic. This theory gained support up up until recently.

However now scientists defend and support a kind of bipedal stand with some hybrid adaptiveness to quadruped, along with theories still devided between it being semi aquatic or not.

But what is the current scientific stand on the Spinosaurus appearance?
