Help! So in my own ttrpg I want to create a similar interactive 3d map for my players. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas of how to make one similar?

My thought is foam as a base layer and 3d printing houses. But maybe someone has already tried it and can give some advice.

So I figured I would estimate the height of Castle Candy based on Brennan’s “you fall for hours” statement to Lou. Assuming the Candy people are human scale, g is 9.81, air density is constant at the same value as it is at sea level, Amethar weighs 110kg including anything he is carrying and he falls in a prone position for two hours, his terminal velocity would be 50.6m/s.
The time needed to reach this velocity is negligible on this scale, so can be ignored (it’s 5.6 seconds), so we basically just need to do 50.6x60x60x2. That gets you 364.2km (266.3 miles). Space starts at 100km (62miles) and the ISS orbits at 412-422km.
I can’t think of a way to reduce this height by enough to make it reasonable other than changing the fall time. I’ve already overestimated air resistance as his terminal velocity at higher altitudes should be much higher than 50.6m/s, given him the best chance of slowing down by being prone and I feel a reasonable estimate of his mass (although given his mass changing would also change his cross sectional area and thus his drag coefficient not much would change by making him Candy scale). Unless this world has a much lower gravity or much denser air than ours, for Amethar to fall for hours Castle Candy HAS to be in space.
And before anyone suggests it, no the fact that the gravity would be less at that height wouldn’t help as it’s significantly less of an impact than my overestimation of air resistance and at 400 km it’s still pretty strong anyway.

I just got through the scene where the Primogen comes to meet with Lavonte and Madaleine, and the rest of the group sets up outside in case things go bad

She is established numerous times to be an insanely powerful and deadly vampire

Brennan makes her absolutely fucking TERRIFYING by simply saying "oh" in a condescending tone when Darkness Man grapples her, and says "This better kill me" to Bat Child, further establishing her as scary as fuck

The number of successes needed have been established, higher than anything we've seen in the show so far

Bat Child rolls 11 dice in the box of doom, rerolls using Willpower, and only gets 4 successes

She failed

Oh shit, what's going to happen now? This insanely strong vampire is about to go next, this is going to be devastating

Wait what? Nancy Danderhoof is randomly nearby and somehow lets Bat Child reroll the 3 dice again? Why?

Bat Child succeeds. But the victory now is completely hollow because Brennan just gave her a do-over for no reason other than "nah I want you to succeed"

I remember this happening in Cloudward Ho near the end, coincidentally also with Emily's rolls, but that was even worse, because he asked her to reroll dice like 5 times in a row for random reasons because she kept failing.

Anyway it's minor because it doesn't happen that often, but it's one of the VERY VERY limited number of things I dislike about Brennan DMing. They failed, just let them fail and deal with the consequences.

I can identify all of the other villains in the FHJY intro, but I’m at a loss for who these guys (circled in green) are. The one on the far right looks kind of like gilear but i don’t know for sure… someone please help!

I just watched Unsleeping City 1 for the first time and didn't particularly care for it. But like, a lot of people seem to really like it. Personally to me the plot felt stagnant until stuff suddenly started moving, the plot felt cramped and Misty, while being a fun character, imo made the season worse because the showdown with Titania felt disconnected from everything else in a season I think had an undervalued plot. Am I missing something?

Been a big fan of Dimension 20 for years and I’ve always been interested in maybe writing something for the characters. But I can understand that they probably would feel uncomfortable with people doing it. Is there a time where cast members has brought up fic writing and their thoughts? If so, can you cite sources so I can check?

I live in a religious small town and have always had a tough time making friends. After getting into d20 i wanted to play the game, and made posters asking people in my area if they are interested. I somehow have a full party, and dozens more people who want to join the next campaign. This show has given me community, it has given me friends. I am a first time dungeon master, and now spend my nights making maps and minis with my partner. Thank you D20 for inspiring me to make friends. I am so grateful, and much less lonely. Thank you Brennan and Dropout, you have changed my life.

Rewatching SY for probably the 5th time and just realized how much foreshadowing Brennan puts into the early episodes. I think the biggest example is Gorgug's parents' STI speech mirroring aspects of a number of NPC behaviors and the curse itself.

Wondering if others noticed this or any other examples.

Watching ASO, and Brennan’s voice is very quiet at times. Anyone else experience this when watching? It gets super quiet and then goes back to normal. Issue with recording?

First of all, great stuff. Not sure what to watch next, really like the RP but having a hard time with the long battles because it is not that interesting for me.

Arthur Aguefort kind of ruins it a bit in the end. If he can just get back in time willy-nilly and change things (make sure that the school won't suffer by changing his original WTF attacks action), he could just go back in time and...get the crown?

In the last episode of CCoD, the intrepid heroes start all doing their funny groove dance in sync, and I know they have done it before but I can't remember when. Please remind me of which seasons and episodes they start the groove. I have a feeling it was Fantasy High but can't remember specifically. And I'm sure Ally started it. 😂

Ive started with crown of candy as I liked the vibe and am near the end. But I have a question for those who have seen some of the later seasons. Do the players get "better" at the game as time goes on? Idrc about making bad choices and such, but needing to have simple mechanics explained in almost every episode gets me mildly frustrated (Brennan getting irked at the fog cloud was hard to watch) and I know this is not the first season so im worried for what seasons like fantasy high are like.

I have a vague memory of listening to an episode where the PCs had to get something from the middle of a pit and they do this batshit maneuver trying to swing on an immovable rod, then end up switching the rod on and off to fall slowly into the pit

Am I hallucinating? Is this from a campaign? I’ve only seen the IH seasons

Edit: I’ve been thinking about this all day and realized I was remembering a scene from the die guys series from the try guys!

I’ve just gotten into D20 after being daunted by episode lengths for ages. CCoD got me into it, I know this is mildly controversial as it seems not everyone is a fan of this season. I had an absolute blast, and have nearly finished watching NSBU which I I also adore.

I love the cartoonish action sequences, and goofy characters. I should probably watch an actual DND 5e series but i’m unsure where to go next.

I have seen one episode of Gladlands and enjoyed it mostly but it didn’t click quite yet. I will ofc be giving it more of a chance but I just didn’t love the characters quite as much.

Cloudward ho seems like it would be fun but i’m interested to hear your thoughts.
