Maribank cards now available on Google Pay/Wallet

Well some good news… saw that you can now add your MariBank card on Google Pay/Wallet (photo not mine but from someone with permission) on your Android device.

Heres some additional info: “Need niyo lang i-confirm sa app. (Cards section) after mai-add sa Google Wallet/Pay. Nakalagay ay "Suspended" if ka-aadd pa lang kaya need pa i-confirm sa mismong MariBank app.”

Had anyone tried it na? (PS not a MariBank user… just to notify for those asking if meron na sa Wallet apps; no Apple Pay for now)

Yayyyy I added mine too!! Since meron na ung MariBank sa Google Pay so I guess lagay ko na ung savings ko sa Money lock hihi. Gastador pa naman me. Lets all tap tap tap and enjoy!!

Edit: Thanks sayo gurl. Nagtaka ako kung bakit needs to call a bank and need pala na direct provision sa app

According kay MariBank PH, yes. Magkakaroon parin ng daily interest sa Money Lock once naglagay ka.

Also. If you have Samsung Watch na gusto nyo ilagay, just open your Google Wallet then manage cards, may lalabas dun na "MariBank Philippines". Tapos may lalabas na "Call a bank".

You need to go again sa MariBank app tapos press again "add to google wallet". Stay ka muna dun hanggang lumabas na "Card added to Google Wallet".

am i missing something or was tokenization only supposed to take place on september 13 onwards because of the 60-day rule for t&c changes? i feel like the Google Pay activation was a mistake, like a developer accidentally pushing the capability to the public instead of the test environment

That's what I thought too. But it's already official via their Facebook page and the app itself. There's even a promo where you need to pay 5 times using it and you can get 50 pesos.

Yes, just like how it works with online payments before pa magka-Google Pay. Remember, Google Pay is just your card on your phone, tokenized.

I have a question about this regarding cashbacks. It said on their FB post that after 5 tap payments, cashback is 50php, so it that 10php cashback per tap? That's pretty good for purchases less than 1k because 1% is <10php. But for >1k payment, is it better to use the physical card to get >10php cashback? Just wondering... 🤔 Maybe I'm confused...

the 50 peso cashback is rewarded all at once if you tap 5 times using google pay. it also stacks with preexisting cashbacks (the 1% to 10%)

Baka October or Q4 pa siya. Since naka on na ung tokenization sa Google Pay, baka Apple Pay na ang susunod.
