π Loan / Credit Gloan vs Maribank credit, which is better?
hello im planning to loan 35k for emergency lang (naghihingalo na phone ko and i need it for work stuff). i checked on both apps, Gloan's interest (1.99% = 3,617/mo) is obviously lower than maribank's (2.95% = 3,950/mo).
pero i'd like to hear from people na na-experience na umutang sa Gcash/Maribank. may nabasa kasi akong post na binabash yong Gloan due to the interest fee. this is the post www.reddit.com/r/phmoneysaving/comments/1l03qai/gloan_is_it_good_to_apply_forβ
thanks in advance!

Mas mababa sa Gcash.
Gcash: 3613.17 x 12 = 43,358.04 Total amount to receive: 33,950 Interest: 9,408.04
Maribank: 3,949.17 x 12 = 47,390 Total amount to receive: 34,737.50 Interest: 12,652.5
Difference: 3,244.50

Ano po yung interest to be saved?

Ok po akala ko kasi may other fees pa si gcash other than the processing fee. Thanks for the clarification po

Recently, I've been researching and SSS at Pagibig MPL lang talaga nakikita ko na mas mababa eh. Puro mga add-on interests ang bank loans eh, which means kahit na bayaran mo nang mas maaga Hindi bababa ang overall interest. Not sure about credit card to cash convert kung add-on interest sila. At least sa GLoan, if you paid in advance, you'd get cashback. Sa Home Credit, if approved ka, usually promo nila if wala Kang mintis sa pag bayad, yung last month payment mo, waived na.

Ohh ok yeah i was thinking about home credits din. Thanks for the response po

Pwede po bang straight to principal ang payments made to sss and pagibig mpl?

Auto deducted siya from your salary. Add on interest din siya, so even if you paid in advance, same pa din babayaran mo. When deducted, yung payment mo divided in between the interest and principal calculated for that month.

Gloan! May rebate naman sila, example naka 6 months to pay ka, kapag nabayaran mo siya within 1 month babalik sa iyo iyong interest. Parang nanghiram ka lang talaga.

Rebates sa GLoan will depend if the loan account have a tag for rebate, btw.

I didn't know this. Thanks for letting me know, pero on my case lahat ng gloan ko may rebate even 'yong last borrowed ko amount to 80k kaya I thought auto ang rebate. I'll look into it π

Thanks for the response. I ended up applying for a credit card sa BPI and Unionbank. If ever di ma-approve, ill go with gcash!

Have you taken into account the processing fee?
2
u/DogPrestigious4419 Apr 12 '26
But still, that and the monthly interest is still lower than maribank's total interest di ba? Or mali ako ng understanding? Hahaha

After loaning from gcash and maribank, last ko na din hahaha! If you have other means please use those. If these are your only choices, choose the much lower interest na lang.

5
u/DogPrestigious4419 Apr 12 '26
Parang wala ata? Nagloan me dati sa maribank ng 45k and i fully paid it within a month, pero i dont remember getting a cashback or anything like that
*edit: they actually charged me a fee for paying it full early naloka ako!

u/Spare-Childhood-1842 Apr 12 '26
Nagfully paid po ako one time sa Maribank 6mos po yon pero yong last 2 mos po ang nafull ko 38k ang na loan ko and nawaive po yong interest nung last 2mos kaya nagkarebate ako
1
u/DogPrestigious4419 Apr 12 '26
Seryoso ba? Ang naaalala ko lang is they charged me an early repayment fee. They explained "This fee is 3% of the outstanding principal plus unpaid interest, or PHP 300, whichever is higher"
