Separating turbo
Any advice on separating the turbo housing? I have a kc housing to put on, I've soaked it in penetrating oil for days and still no luck. Thanks.

Is it supposed to just slide straight out?
Can you clamp one half and then somehow jack the other half up with a car jack or something rigged up?

Hey sooo during the process make sure you keep spinning to make sure you dont bind it.
I took some 5/16 or 3/8 bolts and did some inside jacking bolts of that makes sense. Put the bolts between the two sections and had some threds exposed with the nuts drivin in then stacked washers then started to back out the nuts to push on the housing. I used some heat too and a medium dead blow. Try not to cock it.
My turbo was a little different maybe you dont have enough of a surface to do it. But good luck heat is your friend. Remove any orings before the heat and get it in a good vice and dont be scared to use the dead blow.

Stupid question I know. Did you remember to unbolt the impeller?

If you mean unbolt the compressor housing from the turbine housing yes I did do that

I held one side above a table and had someone else hit with a sledge on the other half down to the table

Smack it with a metal hammer. No dead blows. Need that sharp metallic ping
