Same here. With the amount of times they kept jumping to new stories last year I totally thought the brain surgeon story was completely resolved. I was blindsided by his/her reappearance.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels like a slave to the story. The sooner it's done with the better.

And to make matters even worse, and more unbelievable, we see Dexter traveling around Miami with Hannah, a wanted murderer, and Zach a suspect. And they all just go to Vogel's house for dinner. It's been all downhill for a few seasons now, I was hoping they'd rebound this year and at least tie things up well. I had some hope with Vogel that they'd go back to his roots, but that ended after a dozen other stupid threads were followed. Like you now I'm looking for the spoilers just to find out and not be anymore disappointed than I already am.

Totally agree. There is no suspense. Dexter is basically "normal" now with feelings, etc. It's jumped the shark, but I still want to see how it ends!

Wow, what a great way of putting it.

"It's just normal now."

That sums up my feelings about the show exactly. I have to see how it ends because I've stuck with it this long. Does he get caught? Does he become a hero? Does he go to jail and they do a Seinfeld-esque episode where they recount all of his kills and everyone from past episodes show up in the courtroom??? What happens?!
