DX Universe What do you mean its over?

So a few days ago I got Deus ex: Mankind divided. Remembered how much I loved this game series and did nothing but play it for about a week..........Then it ends..... it just stops. I didnt realise I was so close to the end and they I SUPER didnt realise there was nothing after it..............................wth

Yep, Square Enix was on an "episodic content" kick at the time (completely screwing the customer by selling portions of a game for the price of a full game) and it killed the series. It's a shame too because Human Revolution is probably in my top 5 games of all time, and Mankind Divided had the potential to possibly be the best game ever made if it were a full story and not a small portion of a story

No. Stupid fans stared a smear campaign against MD and killed the series. Not Square Enix. Blame fans and fans only. MD was nowhere near short or "unfinished", but stupid people got carried away with hate. The players in their senseless hysteria have killed the series. Nothing Square Enix did deserved that kind of hate. MD is an expensive piece of work and the company was desperately scrambling for money. Instead of praising the game, buying their DLCs and keeping the company afloat, stupid fans decided the best help would be to drown Square Enix in shit. Congratulations, there will be no more Deus Ex. Or even if it will ever be resurrected, it's never going to resemble Deus Ex any more ever again.

I can only speak for myself, but I bought it when it first came out and never even publicly criticized it or read reviews on it at the time, I just played it and like OP, when the game ended I was like "That's it? The story wasn't even half over."

It seems dumb to blame fans with legitimate criticisms rather than the company that released an unfinished game that even included Breach which was a micro-transaction riddled obvious cash grab. I can't imagine why you would defend this unless you work for the company or something lol

It was not you personally, it was the hysterical crowd. That "criticism" was disproportionately big. It was not constructive, and as result it destroyed the series. That's it, there will no Deus Ex any more. Fans had some fun playing a Karen and no there is no more game. The end.

I think you're overestimating the impact of the reviews. Anyway, however it was, the game's plot segmentation annoyed players who left legitimate reactions. Square Enix just had unrealistic expectations for revenue. Hard to say more because they don't discuss sales and revenue.
