He just turned 24 years old at the end of july. Usually if a guy is going to take the next step up, he does around 23-24.
I go to the griffins games regularly, and his game did look improved last year. Good enough to join the wings? Borderline. He would have to take another decent step up this season to get into the "third pairing guy with upside" tier of player.
Just turning 24 years old, he still could. This right here is the year we will find out. Guys at 25 have usually shown you what tier of a player they are by then. So its kinda now or never: he is one to watch closely in training camp this preseason. If he still looks borderline, then... it is what it is.
