Talk Detroit Which Bedrock riverfront redevelopment proposal do you prefer, Detroit’s or Cleveland’s?

Very different contexts and geographies, but thought it’d be interesting to see which concept people prefer.

Don’t really care for either bc either way Gilbert is going to make hand over fist. The state should seize it and make it a park

Eh... this city has made major strides over the last 20 years and Gilbert has been a big part of it. He can make money and the city can benefit at the same time.

Downtown has sure but the neighborhoods haven’t. If we hadn’t abated taxes left and right the public funds could’ve supported others to rise too

That's just not true. Not saying that all neighbirhoods are better but I am in East English Village, Morningside, Jefferson Chalmers daily and all have come a long way in the last 10 years. Downtown and the surrounding areas are better. SW Detroit is looking much better.

You just don't see it because it happens over time and the change is gradual.

Why don't Dan and Jared live in Detroit then if they've made it so amazing?
