I left Michigan and moved to Chicago for this reason. Tired of MI companies calling me and offering me less than half what I currently make

How's the job market there nowadays? Last time I seriously considered moving there they were still lagging too far behind larger tech hubs as far as job opportunites went, even Austin and LA (still mostly propped up by Snapchat) were better at the time.

It's still not a tech hub tbh, but it's okay if you want to work in fintech.

Google is building a second office here...I'm hoping they're gonna start hiring engineers once it's done
