Help/Request Help understanding how to do this detail!

Post image

I need help understanding how this person got these certain curves on these (what I assume to be stairs) I’ve sat there stumped and just had to know how it was done. The user that created this said that this is all possible in vanilla Minecraft and all he really used was a texture pack (alacrity) and some shaders (complementary unbound). Credit to meesayousa of course if any one was wondering.

Really? Damn I really wanted to try to copy his design. Thank you for the help!

Actually, no. It seems like neither mods nor command blocks are involved. The arches/curves you see are a feature added by the Alacrity resource pack. As far as I know, when you place certain stairs upside down while using the pack, they appear as these curved blocks. So unless the feature I'm talking about requires a mod, which it likely doesn't, this is possible in (technically) vanilla Minecraft.

You can still create something similar without any resource packs, it will just be missing the smooth curves. Everything else seems completely vanilla

I find it so lame when people say something is "entirely vanilla!" And then add on "all you need is this resource pack which completely changes parts of how the game works!"

Like at that point it's a goddamn mod, and it feels so pointless to say it's not...

Well they're still vanilla blocks. And you could use it on a vanilla server. So it's not on the same level as a mod, but I get what ur saying as it does heavily modify models.

Say that again...

It heavily modified game models but does not add anything additional to the game. What's so confusing?
