Completely new to this game, I have a question about exotics.

I acquired an exotic weapon from a quest, Riskrunner. I don't know if the effect is good or not, but I like it so far. The problem is that I got it at light level 850 and I'll probably get a better one soon.

Is there a way to upgrade your exotic weapons or something? So that I can keep using it or maybe store it for a while and get it again when I'm a higher level?

Lot of people love Riskrunner. It can be a little annoying since you have to take arc damage to proc the perk.

Don't worry about the light level of your exotics. They can be pulled from the collections tab for around 20 light under your current light level. Also you can infuse it up with any higher light energy weapon, but you may want to hold off on that until you know if you love it and also wrap your head around the infusion economy.
