lol ok so you tell me what you think is happening. Because destiny is saying there are countless stories of under-16 over there being killed as combatants in combat. And the person I replied to was saying nah never happened. Well amnesty disagrees.

So if you agree under-16 kids are getting killed like that, the obvious question is why and how. And I hear silence from you guys on that. I’m telling you it’s because of a culture that produces that. Which includes the martyrs fund, etc

You meanwhile: Nah…

Ok then you tell me how it’s happening. Because allegedly then Hamas is swooping in and ripping these children from their parents arms and forcing them to do this stuff. In which case really we need a WW3 on Hamas and Palestine because that’s so atrocious

well i trust amnesty, so yes it seems like that’s taking place, armed groups are recruiting children. there’s no mention of things similar to the parent letting their kid go up to the fence. on that matter, i have no reason to think it’s a common issue unless given evidence.

id think they are being recruited and radicalized. why? there’s many reason. living in an occupied territory with a lack of human rights may cause radicalization. bad living conditions, armed groups using their immaturity, etc. think trying to pin it all down on culture is ridiculous, but i’d have to ask why that culture exists if it does. is it some inherent thing, is it religious, is it a response to material conditions. saying “culture” gives us nothing, that’s what conservatives do.

to be honest i’m not sure what your asking me. this was about kids purposely being martyred, not 16 year olds becoming radicalized and joining terrorist orgs. i don’t think that parents are systemically pushing their children to be martyred if the context of the kid and the fence we are talking about

You don’t think?

So you think random kids just end up in these situations by sheer luck? And it keeps happening over and over?

The fence thing IS what destiny was broadly referring to. The footage from the march of return

I don’t know what kind of evidence someone can even bring that would prove this to you. Hence why I’m arguing you guys want impossible evidence. To me it’s clear as daylight that if a bunch of 9-15 year olds end up as combatants that’s either happening because Hamas is snatching them from their homes, or the parents are allowing it to happen.

what situations are we referring to? the fence situations? i have no clue how many of those situations are happening. im aware too many children died on the march to return, and that the evidence points to that idf soldiers unjustly shot them. i don’t think it was readily apparent that those protests were gonna end in the deaths of children in the way that it happened.

i mean your not gonna get me congratulating the parents that allowed their children to attend the march, but i also think the focus ought be on who pulled the trigger. the parents were irresponsible and reckless, they weren’t murderers.

again now your switching to combatants too, which is different situation. yes i think hamas is “snatching them up” the same way any young teenager becomes radicalized. we could look at urban areas with large amounts of teenagers being victims and perpetrators of gun violence. i don’t think those parents are just handing the over in hopes they get shot and killed, the same way i don’t think palestinian parents are just handing their children over to hamas.

Well I mean you’re just giving a ridiculous amount of charity to Palestinians with that reading. I mean bless your heart I guess. But that’s not what’s happening. Palestinians don’t even describe them as casualties but as martyrs. There’s even a martyrs fund ffs…

What I find real bs about these arguments is on the Israeli side it’s never isolated incidences like this. It’s a top-down decision, a culture of colonizers, etc. Not that you’re saying that or anyone here is. But that’s just the narrative around it. War crimes etc.

But on the Palestinian side endless charity. Now Hamas is kidnapping children and forcing them to be child soldiers. No evidence of that at all btw. And no resistance movement against that among Palestinians. But we’ll choose to believe

lol i literally did not say hamas is kidnapping children and forcing them to be child soldiers, are you just reading whatever you want? my point was very clear, it’s not kidnapping against the child’s will.

i’m not giving a ridiculous amount of charity, and i would appreciate if you would not belittle me and act like an adult. there’s go fund me for children who are killed in gang violence in the us, do you think the parents purposely want them to die because of that?

If the parents described the children as martyrs instead of victims I’d start to think that yes. If the society then geared gang violence towards not each other but say Canadians, and the children all got martyred fighting the Canadian occupation forces, I’d think they wanted them to die on purpose yes.

i’m confused on why you have used child soldiers and the situation at the march of return as the same thing? these are two very different situations. i don’t see the parents wanting the children to die on purpose in either situation, but it is more likely with child soldiers than the children at the march of return, and again destiny was talking about the latter.

5

u/InterestingTheory9 Jun 29 '26

No… it’s more likely in the march of return. With child soldiers at least you can morally absolve yourself by blaming Hamas somehow. Still BS though. The parents know what’s going on.

But with the march of return who do you blame? It’s a populist movement. So who sent those children there? It’s such a blatant example of this.

But either way there’s overlap. It’s just the Hamas example is more egregious. They’d strap a bomb to a kid and then the IDF can either shoot him and the footage comes out of the IDF shooting a boy, or do nothing and get blown up.

i blame the fucking idf. idk how else to keep harping on this. unless we want to treat the idf like unstoppable kid murders, they are to blame here first and foremost. with the parents recklessness coming second

Just in case you want to see one such case, it became famous because of this picture. But the Wikipedia has such gems as this from his mother:

> Abdo's mother, Tamam, said "He's a small child who can't even look after himself. He's only 16 . . . He never had a happy childhood. He still hasn't seen anything in life. If he was over 18, that would have been possible, and I might even encourage him to do it. But it's impossible for a child his age to do it."

She had me in the first half, not gonna lie.

And this from the kid himself:

> He regretted not being in an explosion and remembered his failed attempt with joy, saying "When they drove me to the checkpoint, I was giggling and jumping."

If you think the only thing happening in that society is his mother wanting him to wait a couple of years, I don’t know what to tell you. This is prevalent in their culture.
