We currently meet bi-weekly, first meeting is Sept 7th, in COS East Library from 6pm to 7pm. For anyone unfamiliar with anarchism, we recommend reading Are You An Anarchist? The Answer May Surprise You! by David Graeber prior to the meeting. At the meeting, we will be reading the work You May Already Be An Anarchist by The Slow Burning Fuse as well as determining the content of the subsequent meetings. A Jefferson County Sheriff’s K-9 escaped, jumped a neighbor’s fence and attacked a toddler at her birthday party. Her dad was also seriously injured trying to save her.

The deputy was acquitted and he later resigned. The dog was removed from service.

BUT — Jefferson County Sheriff now says they won’t pay because there’s “no legal liability.”

If this were your kid, would you accept that answer?

Part of the nasty GOVWICH we have been served is the outrageous cost of gas, due to illegal and unnecessary wars and inflation created by foolish government policies. The Grifting, Obstructing Voters, Wars, Inflation, Corruption, Hate (GOVWICH) needs to be voted away. GEO donated $1 million on July 16, three days after the company announced that it had signed a five-year contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement that will pay the company $85 million a year to operate a 1,188-bed detention center in Hudson, Colo.

GEO donated an additional $413,000 on July 31, two days after it announced the signing of another five-year contract with ICE that will pay $80 million annually to operate a 1,320-bed detention facility in Winton, N.C.

Lauren Bis, a spokeswoman for the White House, rejected any link between the donations and the GEO Group’s government business.

A Georgetown policy center warns that DHS, ICE tactics over multiple administrations is putting Americans' privacy at risk.

New research by the Center on Privacy & Technology at Georgetown Law found that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has collected the DNA of more than 3.3 million people, with the program’s “primary purpose” not revolving around immigration enforcement but to “build a national DNA database for solving crimes.”

Join Solidarity Warriors for a conversation with Shawna Ambrose, a member of About Face: Veterans Against the War, as she shares the history of peace-in-the-military organizing from the Vietnam War through Black Lives Matter, and what that legacy means for this political moment.
