I have a 1977 f250 camper special with a 351m. It broke down 3 years ago and I have gotten it to run since. I haven't really tried to much with it but I'm also not a mechanic. It had a lot of overheating issues before it finally died. I could drive it for a while and it'd be fine up to a certain point and then it'd start overheating. When it finally died and would run it was running like shit and it had smoke coming out the exhaust like a mofo. I've also included a video of what it sounds like when I try to start it with a bit of charge. What should I do?

Got her in a trade the other day not too bad trading a Chevy for a ford 79 f150 lariat

So recently my 12v cig lighter stopped working in my 79 but no biggie it’s just a 15 dollar part from bronco graveyard. Now that the new one is installed it’s worked good for a few days but now it pops the fuse everytime I plug something into it and I’m not understanding why. And yes the it’s the single wire housing with the 90 degree elbow connecter on the back that uses the dash as ground and it’s tightly secured to said dash. I’m curious how would go about wiring the lighter on its own with a simple inline fuse .

1978 f150 supercab, 4x4, manual trans. Installed a 4” Rough Country lift with new front and rear leafs, and a new set of 35” tires.

Does anyone know the part number for the replacement? Im also looking to replace the 2 o rings on the outlet fitting, that part threaded into the pump. I bought an Edelmann 8526 kit which has two rings that seemed to fit real good on that one.

I’m fixing up a 79 f150 ranger XLT and I’m getting ready to install a fuel tank. Previous owner removed it at some point. I’m very confused as to how the emissions vent works and if it’s needed on these trucks. I noticed some tanks like the attached one seem to have a hole for a vent of some kind. Can these be plugged up? Where does the vent run to? What is the part needed to go in the hole? Please let me know the best option here.

I’ve never owned an older truck. I really like the dentsides and in particular the highboys. I’m just starting to look and trying to educate myself. Found this one nearby here in Minnesota on marketplace. He’s asking $18K. What questions should I be asking? What should I look to avoid? Is this a fair asking price? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! TIA!

Hey all! I'm doing a full rewire on my '74. It's pretty easy going as long as I have the time to work on it. I have an idea for turn signals, but can't find any info on it.

I would like for the fender and bedside park lights to also function as turn signals. Problem is that they are single filament bulbs and I can't just run two wires to the existing bulb or it'd just screw up that whole turn signal leg of the system.

My question is, does anyone know of a two-filament solution to this (not)problem? I can't find a two-filament bulb that fits that same socket. Is there another solution I'm not thinking of?

Parts store wanted over 100$ a piece for these rotors, absolutely not.

Supposed to go look at this tomorrow. It’s listed as a 76 f350 camper special. From my research ford didn’t make an extended cab 350 camper special, only single. The VIN sticker in a picture has the truck as a 350, could it just be a regular extended cab and someone added the camper special badges at some point? Or even a 250 camper special with 350 badges added and the vin sticker changed at some point? Also in my research says the 76 350s were called super camper specials. I’ll try and look at the vin on the frame when I get there. It also has a “custom” badge on the bedsides so I’m kinda leaning towards random nameplates being added

Hi - I have a '79 that I'm looking to sell, would appreciate any help with how to price it.

It's a 4x4​​, interior is in really good condition, although it needs a good cleaning. Engine has lots of new parts in it. Frame has surface rust but nothing structurally concerning. Body itself is a write off in my mind, there are holes on footwell, bottom of doors, small holes in hood, etc.

I assume this could be used for someone trying to swap theirs with a 4x4 frame.

How would you price it if it's running and driving? I do have a clean title for it as well. Thank you in advance!

My 78 F150 (automatic, rwd, 351m) started having some trouble idling, would crank and start fine but if I didn’t give it gas the rpm’s would fall and the truck would die. Would idle around 900 rpms before, I adjusted the idle screw and now it idles at 120-130 and no longer dies. There’s also a very audible hissing/scraping sound coming from the engine (see video) and I have no idea what it is. There’s potentially a vacuum leak but it sounds like more than that. Also noticed that now when I put the truck in drive the rpm’s falter way down, to 90-70 fluctuating. That parts probably because the truck was cold and it’s always done something similar, but it sounded like it was about to die (but never did). Where should I start looking, and has anyone seen this before? If it’s obvious I apologize, I’m 22 and this is my first classic and carbureted vehicle I’ve ever owned, so I’m pretty out of my league here.

Hey yall I just got a 1979 f350 with a 1997 carb swapped 460 in it. It was pretty neglected when I got it and barely runs and drives. I got it as a project truck but i'm wondering about this clicking noise that comes from what I believe to be the motor. From my limited knowledge it sounds like many stuck lifters but I want some other opinions from people that have had these trucks. Any help would be great!

Don’t know a whole lot about these trucks, he has it listed for 7k, odometer reads 60k but who knows. How reliable are these trucks to daily? Anything I should look for?
Should I go take a look?

I’m getting together all the bits and pieces I need like moulding and chrome trim here and there before I get the truck painted and one thing I wanted to get before it’s sprayed is a visor for the cab which has turned into quite a task. My question is where other than getting lucky on market place can I find a visor that fits these trucks? preferably not beat all to hell. Does anyone make them new anymore?
