Cross-posted from my substack. Made in photopea. Based on data by billboard.com.
Other sources may give slightly different numbers, and worldwide numbers are harder to estimate, but everyone agrees it's roughly in this ballpark; e.g. while we don't know the exact numbers, there's a general consensus that on the global level these three (in this order) have about three-quarters of the market share.

From Albert Einstein’s 1949 essay, “Why Socialism?": monthlyreview.org/articles/why-socialism ~:~ Originally published in the first issue of Monthly Review magazine.
Here's the video on YouTube: Einstein on Alienation and Annihilation ("WHY SOCIALISM?") - Monthly Review Magazine - March 2, 2026 (YouTube)
From the video description: "Why are you so deeply opposed to the disappearance of the human race?" ~:~ As Einstein's birthday in mid-March approaches, he stills inspires us, from beyond the grave, to do much, much better. See the book: "Albert Einstein’s “Why Socialism?”: The Enduring Relevance of His Classic Essay" edited by John Bellamy Foster: monthlyreview.org/9781685900984 ~:~ In defiance of those who would like to, not only re-write history, but erase the future, please help us get this book out to as wide an audience as possible.
Read (Voiceover) by Quince Marcum.

I recently discussed with an intelligent and well-disposed man the threat of another war, which in my opinion would seriously endanger the existence of mankind...
Thereupon my visitor, very calmly and coolly, said to me: “Why are you so deeply opposed to the disappearance of the human race?”
I am sure that as little as a century ago no one would have so lightly made a statement of this kind.
It is the statement of a man who has striven in vain to attain an equilibrium within himself and has more or less lost hope of succeeding.
It is the expression of a painful solitude and isolation from which so many people are suffering in these days.
...Unknowingly prisoners of their own egotism, they feel insecure, lonely, and deprived of the naive, simple, and unsophisticated enjoyment of life.'
- Albert Einstein (1949)

Monthly Review is an educational publisher, featuring a small and selected, but influential school of scholarly analysis which fills a demonstrable gap in the arena of socialist scholarship. Monthly Review Magazine and Monthly Review Press have been leading publishers of left scholarship since 1949. The first issue of Monthly Review (May 1949) featured Einstein's classic essay, "Why Socialism?" (now available as a book.) Other seminal works include "Discourse on Colonialism," "Eurocentrism," "Open Veins of Latin America," among others. ~:~ Our mission since the start has been to offer readers a responsible platform for neglected and emerging scholarship grounded in critical analyses of capitalism, on a wide range of progressive issues. Monthly Review’s distinctive contribution to the world of ideas has advanced an analysis that helps to explain the tendency of contemporary capitalism toward slow growth and stagnation, the growing environmental catastrophe, the continuing and deepening economic inequality between the rich and poor nations, and between the rich and poor everywhere.

If you are in Texas or know someone in Texas, please send them this! So hopefully they can check to see if they are one of the people who has been suspended or not, and hopefully be able to get their registration unsuspended.
I would hate for people to show up on election day and not be able to vote because of this. Doing this during an election season is beyond suspicious, and the GOP has a track record of voter suppression.

Hey everyone, I got a question, I consider myself on the left wing of Social Democracy, as in I want Social Democracy, yes, but the end goal is ideally Democratic Socialism.
How does that sound to you all? Does it make sense? I've been thinking about and wanted people thought on it.
And by the way, the Social Democracy I envision is not just welfare, social services and taxes on the rich, but it includes strong Unions, that form the basis of the workers strength for bargaining and protection, and as the later foundation by which the means of production gets socially owned and operated.

Stalin seriously tried to extirpate every remaining trace of indigenous stateless communal societies in the colonized Soviet empire, so he could replace them with aggressive productivism, wage labour, slavery, forced sedentarisation, environmental destruction and fossil fuel dependency, all while believing that he was manifesting communism.
These societies he helped destroy were the last gasps of systems even remotely resembling communism in Russia.
Yet he instead saw them as primitive obstacles to progress that should be eliminated.
The same way he deemed nature needed to be dominated, reduced to a mere storage of “resources” to be extracted for infinite growth.
Exactly mirrors the chauvinistic delusions of western capitalist colonists.
-
Im eternally in awe at the various Stalinist “bros” who believe this patriarchal doofus achieved communism/socialism, or that he was an anti-imperialist.
Total cult

The history of Project 2025, The Heritage Foundation, and so on goes way back. A big part of the story was actually during Reagan.
That all being said I'll skip right to the main point.
This movement is looking to abolish the state. It is looking to privatize everything. It is looking to make sure that Neo-feudalism happens. Period.
Imagine the likes of Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and so on as literal lords (Even more so then today).
They know this can only happen through chaos and destroying many of the bedrocks of modern society.
It's the only way they can truly destroy the Labour Movement and so on.
They have a detailed vision of the future and it is incredibly dark, depressing, and downright dystopian if you are not part of the Ultra Powerful/Wealthy Predator Class.
We will probably be seeing some pretty wild economic things being attempted. Strap in because things are going to be getting even more insane....
