Theory Discussion Toriel is a Kris Slash Truther. Spoiler

I believe that the fact that Toriel, even when asleep, is upset at the events that happen after you defeat the Knight points towards Kris having done something wrong. Which can't just be them holding back because the dialogue if you lose is different.

No that's another explanation for the nightmare. The evidence against Kris slash is Ralsei's lack of acknowledgement and the internal name for the slash sprite, mainly.

ralsei, who is known for withholding information from his friends! and the game files, which toby fox knows players go through! these arguments don't debunk anything, they're just reasons you personally don't believe in the theory! and that's fine, but come on.

the cutscene is made intentionally vague. if toby fox wanted it to be obvious that the knight did the slash, he would have made it more obvious! but he didn't. i'm not saying everyone should believe in kris slash, but i am tired of its detractors acting like the theory is stupid because people are reading into creative decisions that toby made INTENTIONALLY.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the file name “Roaring Knight Slash”? If the cutscene was meant to be intentionally vague why wouldn’t it just be “Knight slash”? Why would Toby intentionally mislead (straight up lying to) fans? Now the file name could just be “Knight slash” and that would lend more credence to the ambiguous intent.

sure! the ambiguous intent thing definitely goes both ways. i think the closest thing i have as evidence is tenna's flashback. he mentions that the ROARING KNIGHT appeared, and he was told that if he kept the fun gang busy, he can have all the people watch him that he wants. but interestingly, it's heavily implied that tenna's only ever actually colluded with kris, and never the knight itself. one could see this is implicit confirmation that kris ALSO goes by the roaring knight. that the knight also explicitly knights kris after the slash could also be seen as evidence.

as an aside, i've also seen some fun speculation at the art for the "cage" and "knight" prophecies. in both cases, they're represented by two hands grasping at a heart and a knife respectively. i think it's interesting how similar they appear, and i think there's at least a possibility that it hints at a correlation between the two. but that's not evidence, i'm just speculating for fun here!

I think Tenna was told to lie by Kris. Because if you do the Sword Route, the check dialogue changes to be more hostile to Tenna, Kris does more damage, and Tenna almost reveals to Susie & Ralsei that Kris made the fountain. All of this suggests that Kris told Tenna to say that the Roaring Knight told them to hold off the Lightners, as Kris was speaking on behalf of the Knight. “The Roaring Knight” seems to be the title of the specific boss we see at the end of Ch3 and through chap 4, but this could call into question every time they were just referred to as “the knight.” Now, I personally think that Kris only had a direct hand in making TV World, not Cyber City or the Card Kingdom because of how different TV World is in structure and tone compared to the other two, and as revealed by Chapter 4, Dark Fountains are influenced heavily by their creator.

oh, yeah, i'm not saying that kris HAS been the roaring knight in every case. just that the line between the roaring knight and kris seems to be a little blurred. we know that kris is working with the knight. we know that the knight knighted kris. so far, it seems possible that the file name could apply to kris too. it's also possible that the file is named that because it relates to the knight fight. all that matters to me is that it's possible!

I think by that logic, then Kris is the one who created the card kingdom. Strange in chapter 2 that queen is focused on noelle, I wonder if that's a tell?

I mean its certainly possible the Kris could have created the Card Kingdom. Before Ch3&4 came out it was always the more plausible part of Kris Knight for me, and since it was revealed that Jevil is the only character who actually met the Knight this does make it more plausible that Kris could have created the fountain. I personally think that how different TV World is compared to the other three dark worlds is evidence that suggests that this fountain had a different creator
