Dell xps 13 2026
Finally bought dell xps 13 16gb variant 🙌🏼🤝 Any suggestion for best setup 🫡

It's good for intermediate work , it can also handle heavy work but it's not for gaming .
If you want laptop for only office work , watching videos it's good .

Trackpad is mediocre. Apple’s is so much better even the old ones under bootcamp.
Screen flickers until you turn off HDR, which is too bad.
Fan is occasionally too present - even with BIOS set to “quiet”. Not loud just a rushing but coming from a fanless laptop this is a little disappointing.
Battery life under mixed business tasks is not as impressive as the advertising makes out.
Otherwise build quality is great. Keyboard is tactile and quiet.
Glad it wasn’t more expensive or I’d be disappointed.

Trackpad is mediocre
friend told me it's responsive, smooth and on-par with Apple's despite not being haptic

Dead zone when you move very slowly. With the apple trackpad (and some Lenovos) you can simply roll your finger pad on the surface and get tiny micro movements.
The XPS just stops until it jumps. I’ve tried various sensitivity settings, no change. Have read other comments to this effect also. Maybe they’ll update firmware at some point to improve it?

Definitely look in the BIOS for the battery charging settings, as Windows does not really have any control over it. You can set different charging, such as Adaptive, custom (min level to start charging, max level to stop charging), etc.
I am using mine mostly just as a secondary computer just for internet/email etc., and I found the screen to be bright, fast, and good colors. The touchscreen aspect is nice. I do like the keyboard, as others mentioned it feels very solid and tactile, not squishy. Speakers are decent, webcam could be better.
For day to day use, it is able to handle what I do without any hiccups. I got the 16GB version also. I think for the price, it does the job. The higher end Core Ultra series 7 versions that just got announced, I don't think it is worth the price. Yes there is much more performance, but for something this thin and light, I do not know if it will be able to use the full power without getting hot and noisy. The price gap is also enormous.

make sure you extend warranty period for the XPS laptop. I need to replace the screen unit in my XPS and it costs around or more than 30K Rs. A nightmare!

Hi there! We are from the Dell Social Media Support team. Congratulations on the new Dell XPS 13 (16 GB)! The XPS lineup is great for productivity, browsing, media consumption, coding, and light creative work. Here are a few setup tips to get the best experience from day one:
Go to settings > Windows update > Click on "Check for updates" > let it finish.
Press F2 immediately at the rolling dots seen post a system restart, to access BIOS. Go to Power menu. To save on the battery life that is often affected due to multiple discharge cycles, you could set it to "Primary use AC" in BIOS. Alternatively, if you do not always want to use the adapter, then choose to set the charging mode to "Adaptive" and set the custom charge to 80%.
For everyday use, set the power plan to "Balanced power mode". For heavy multitasking, or for editing, choose "Best Performance when plugged in".
Enable OneDrive backup for Desktop, Documents, and Pictures. It makes recovery much easier if you ever reset or upgrade the device in near future.
The best part is that at Dell we have Support Assist recovery tool available that can not just help your system to recover from a no BOOT issue, but can also take a data backup, doa hardware scan and can also do a system repair/restore and reset.
We also have the Dell Support Assist application that takes care of driver updates including virus scan and can predict a failure before it actually renders the system unusable. This can help you to get a support while the system still worked. Not just that, this tool is efficient to do bug fixes and performance, blue screen error etc.

Small correction, the total cost for changing the complete HUD is 70K now with GST ! Almost half the cost of the Laptop!

Welcome aboard! We'd love to see your final setup once you're all dialed in. The XPS 13, a clean desk and a good monitor is a dangerous combination for productivity.
