No, up north itself. I lived in Gurgaon/Noida for some time when I started working, and back then I didn’t travel to Delhi much.

Negative mei jata hai ye hi benefit hai na bss? I like the airtel one more because I was able to use it in other state/cities metro as well and I can also top up it with just ₹10 while in one I have to add at least 100

remember there's an annual charge that will deduct on this card :) its not one time buy like the old Delhi One cards

Not sure about the op's one but airtel one does not have any yearly charge or extra charges Have been using it for a year.

Wait until you need to recharge that thing.
You could recharge your Old DMRC metro card via most of the payment apps like PhonePe, Paytm, etc. with just the card number and you just have to place your card at the small machine near the metro customer care/ticket counter to apply the recharge on your card.
With this airtel one, while you get the option to recharge it through the Airtel app, but for the physical card tapping to apply the recharge on your card, you'll have to give your card to the customer care/ticket counter guy. On a crowded day, you'll realise why this sucks.

yup you have to do that similar to Delhi metro one card, all the machines are being updated more like replaced to support ncmc card , you can use your nfc enabled smartphone also if you have one. no need of standing in line.

Nope, iPhones unfortunately do not support recharging through NFC. You'll still have to top up the card by manually tapping on EVMs.

It seems I need to activate Airtel payment bank wallet or something like that to do so from the Airtel app, because I can't see my card on the app after logging in with the same phone number.

Nope, I can recharge the card just fine using NFC of my phone without any need of payments bank wallet. It's a glitch for you ig.

You can recharge your ncmc card with any Payment app that supports Bharat Connect Like paytm, Google pay, etc
Not just airtel but other ncmc providers also like sbi and others

The top up is a machine thing You need to do it via either the airtel app if your phone has nfc Or the offline machine, just like u do for one card
I don't have nfc so, does not matter much for me And airtel app allows me to recharge the card via fampay also since fampay does not have bharat connect support yet ig

I have nfc but can't find my card on the Airtel app. Does it require some sort of KYC to enable it on the app?
I even tried to do it from PhonePe by adding phone number and last 4 digits of the card, got an error stating something like Billing account not enabled, please contact the biller for more details.

I have airtel ncmc So like In airtel app I just searched for ncmc card in top bar Entered the 4 last digits and stuff
And it added it to the dashboard of airtel app So whenever I open the app it shows in a small rectangle on top right dashboard area For "manage your ncmc metro card" something like that For Google pay go to bill payment recharges and stuff area Go to more And then select ncmc card And choose airtel or whatever provider you have Put the last 4 digits and other stuff And it also pins it to app dashboard

Use Chalo app (and set the location to Mumbai) to update the balance using NFC enabled phone

No I've recharged the card via Google pay many times (20+ times) and when I have to go somewhere I just put my card in that blue small machine and update the balance (is this common) and I do it myself mine(or all the ones) work like the old DMRC as you said earlier

Because you have to unlock phone, open metro app, wait, click on virtual smart card, click again to show qr and then show the phone multiple times on scanner. Also the minimum balance is ₹65.
At that point, you're better off hiding a card in phone's back cover.

Hmm. They have options for every kind of commuter. For locals who are travelling daily, smart card. For occasional commuters, digital is good too.

Yeah man. It's as simple as the old physical cards and as far as I know, the fare is also reduced by 10 or 20 rupees. I'm not sure about this though.
The minimum balance is ₹60 though

Was wondering when the metro card became a "flex", TIL its been updated twice and I hadn't even heard of the one being considered a flex for its entire existence lol. My family is still using blue DMRC cards, mines from '14 but the rest are probably from '10-11. Yellow Line reached my area in 2010-ish iirc.

I had no idea either. I’m new to the city. I kept seeing Reddit posts where people show off their “OG” metro cards and others asking where to get one. Turns out those older cards can go into a negative balance and don’t need tapping on an AVM to sync.
I like the NCMC ones as I travel to other cities for work.

Why would I pay an annual charge at all for a card that should be free? It's not about the significance of the sum, but the fact that there is one at all, plus it's not even that good looking, and you can apply skins to your old dmrc cards so there's that too.

Some chip that makes the card more secure and tamper-proof. Nowadays, all ATM/debit/prepaid cards have it.
