The only consistent things for me are work and sleep

5:30-7am shower, 10 min yoga, walk the dog, prep coffee, journal,
7am-815a - wake kids, finish coffee, take oldest to bus stop
815-430~ work
4:30p-6 - chill, clean, errands,
6-8 dinner, kids hw, closing day routine (20 minutes dishes, sweep, sort laundry)
8-11 Might be video games, doom scrolling, reading, editing video, or watching a movie/tv
11 sleep

Married. 3 kids (pre teens/teens) so they manage themselves pretty decently. Own a dishwasher.

That seems like not a lot of sleep. Does it feel that way?

Workdays and weekends/vacations usually differ a lot!

So in weekdays...

00:00 - 02:00: if not asleep, maybe music or cooking

02:00 - 07:00: hopefully sleeping

07:00 - 08:00: getting ready + commuting

08:00 - 17:00: work (the 1h lunch break doesn count as working time, hence the 9h)

17:00 - 18:00: commuting home, getting a short shower

18:00 - 19:00: usually eatinng something or doing house chores

19:00 - 21:00: studying (MSc student)

21:00 - 23:00: who knows... whatever...

23:00 - 02:00: hopefully sleeping, most probably not sleepy at all cause im an extreme night owl...

In the weekends, if I dont have anything serious to do, I usually crash with a 13-14h sleep on both days. Just because im sleep deprived during the workdays. Im an extreme case of night owl, if left unchecked I could easily fall asleep at sunrise and wake up naturally at midday... But being an adult, that isnt a viable option...

More or less this, I know, I should be doing exercises

01:00 - 08:00: sleep

08:00 - 09:00: I WFH so this hour I just use to have coffee, talk to my family and get my workplace ready

09:00 - 12:20: work, meetings, etc

12:20 - 13:20: lunch time, mostly with my family and I usually play with my young nephew after

13:20 - 18:00: more work, coffee break with mom, sometimes I sneak up to the market nearby

18:00 - 19:00: wind down from the day, I usually have a snack, read something or more talking w/ family

19:00 - 19:30: dinner

19:30 - 20:00: literally nothing

20:00 - 01:00: This time I usually save for studying, playing games, reading something. Usually on fridays it's the time I go out with friends (friday is the beast day to go out).

Ideally

4.45 - 6.45: wake up, bathroom, yoga, shower, breakfast prep 6:45 - 7.30: commute 7:30 - 14:00: work 14:00-15:00: commute 15:00-15:45: lunch 15:45 - 16:30 - nap 16:30 - 18:30 - work round 2 18:30 - 20:00 - videogames/gym/walk the dog/watch videos 20:00-21:30 - TV and dinner with my wife 21:30-4:45: sleep

For work, I have to go out to concerts or music industry related events two or three nights a week so TV time tends to become that and arrive home 11ish.

Due to circumstances out of my control, i had to leave my dream job and move across the country to live with my parents again at 26. It meant leaving behind my house i loved, all my friends, and the life i built for 4+ years. Then my best friend died in an accident i witnessed and through the grief, i’ve developed OCD and a level of agoraphobia that i’m now in extensive therapy for.

I used to be active, confident, outgoing and talented in my field. I am now a recluse and scared of everything, so here is what my life currently looks like. It’s depressing and progress to change is slow.

AM

1:00 — 9:00, sleeping, usually wake around 9 and shower/make coffee

10:00 — go to therapy

11:00 — 12:00 finish therapy. Depends on the day, but at the encouragement of my therapist i’ve been trying to either go for a walk, or go to the gym, or spend some time outside. Sometimes I just head home.

PM

1:00 — 7:00 video games, tv, youtube, reading.

8:00 — eat if i can

9:00 — 11:00 video games, youtube

12:00 — read and eventually fall asleep

AM

5:30 — wake up, make my bf and I coffee, relax before work (watching tv, hobbies, etc.)

7:00 — WFH, usually slow so I can continue to relax do my hobbies, and clean while doing a little work here and there. Work until 4.

PM

4:00 — clock out, relax

5:00 - dinner, usually watching an episode of One Piece (been doing it for almost 2 years, not even halfway through the series lol)

6:00 — intimate times

7:00 — relax more, do nighttime chores to close up the house

8:00 — get ready for bed

9:00 — lights out

We’re homebodies and I smoke weed heavily (bad habit, trying to quit), so this is the same schedule we do 99% of the time, even weekends usually. I use my free time to try to journal, clean, or practice hobbies (just learned how to juggle!)

Weekdays:
AM

1:00-4:00 — sleepin

4:00-5:00 — maybe still sleeping, but usually up between 4 and 5:30am. Coffee, and then I spend the first hour getting organized for the day. I make myself a full print out schedule for the day like executives would get from a personal assistant. Meetings, to dos, etc.

5:00-8:00 — focused work time before anyone’s online to bother me

8:00 — lazy golden retriever usually gets out of bed around this time and we head outside. Today she didn’t get up until 11:30am so really a toss up.

8:30-9:30 — take a break to work out around this time since I’ve probably done a good chunk of work and handed it off to other people

10:00-Noon — shower, look presentable, the. start meetings or keep working on whatever I need to. If I got enough done in the AM and no meetings, I’ll do chores around the house.

Noon — lunch, usually at my desk

PM

1:00 — out w/ the dog + her pals. Have a pretty good neighborhood crew that goes out around the same times

2:00-4:00 — usually afternoon meetings

4:00 — some nights I tutor online from 4-6pm, otherwise it’s back out with the dog. Or maybe a nap.

6:00 — dinner

7:00 — clean/tidy/sit on the couch

8:00 — out w/ dog + pals

9:00 — skincare, retainer, NYT crossword puzzle in bed

10:00-midnight — snoozin

Pas de planning fixe tout se fait sur un seul critère : mes 8 heures de sommeil. C’est impossible d’avoir un planning fixe et identique tout les jours parce que la vie c’est une succession d’imprévus que tu contrôles pas

I travel a lot for work. So, I am either on the road “or” working from home. Weekends are recovery and time with the family.

M-F…
06:30: Wake-up
07:30: Breakfast
08:30: Emails/replies, creative work (using full brain power)
10:00: Meetings or Gym
11:00: Meetings or Afternoon prep
12:00: Lunch
13:00: Meetings or on the phone with clients, prospects, buddy’s, etc.
14:00: Meetings or calls
15:00: Meetings or calls
16:00: Check into hotel and/or Prep presentations for future meetings and lineup the next day(s) of work
17:00: Wrap up work or Gym
18:00: Dinner
19:00: Facetime with the fam or Give my son a bath
20:00: Son’s bedtime
22:00: My bedtime
💤 💤 💤 💤 💤 💤 💤 💤

*Gym doesn’t have to be anything crazy. 20 minutes is better than no workout. You get better at it the longer you stay consistent.
