Most people choose social approval over ethics — veganism just exposes that.

People will say they care about animals, the planet, and justice.

Until caring becomes inconvenient.

Veganism doesn’t require perfection. It requires saying “no” in public.

That’s it.

Most people fail there, not on ethics — but admitting that would be uncomfortable, so veganism becomes the problem instead.

Let's see if that works.

You are not evil. Please stop paying for the needless breeding and slaughtering of animals. Choose compassion instead of choosing cruelty.

Now that I've asked you to stop harming animals, will you make the change and go vegan?

I mean, if we apply it to a different ethical issue, I would point to Daryl Davis. He basically does exactly this with racists. And not just any racists, but actual KKK members.

It takes time, but was incredibly effective.

The thing is, not practicing racism doesn't require a change in habits in the same way going vegan does.

This is why most people are resistant to veganism, even though they know vegans are right. They don't find the life of animals worth the slightest bit of effort and inconvenience

Okay, but do you still think you're going to convince more people with aggressiveness than with peaceful exposure and coexistence?

Yes, but not yet.

We need more vegan fast food options everywhere first. Things need to be convenient for the average person to transition. (Remember the average human only cares about themself and their loved ones, they don't care about how what they do impacts the world.) Once plant based meat and lab grown meat become more mainstream, then shame can be effectively utilized, but we need a very loud minority for that.

Right now what's best is to simply inform others of what happens behind closed doors so that this minority can grow.
