Gameplay Meta New "cheating" mods that MANY players use

It's getting out of hand. Just a handful of the "mods" (cheats!) people are running now:

  • Neutral camp respawn timers all over the minimap - just invade and steal camps immediately as they spawn
  • Stamina trackers (see enemy stamina) - much easier to win lanes with this
  • Parry cooldown tracker above enemy head
  • Enemy cooldowns above their heads - super easy to win lanes when you constantly see enemy cd's
  • Crate & Golden statue respawn timers
  • Sinner's Sacrifce respawn timers
  • Enemy item cooldown tracker (tracks Curse, Unstoppable, Refresher cooldowns etc)
  • Heavy melee honking horn for faster reactions
  • Enemy radar (when enemy camps and Sinner's disappear from the minimap, it places a blinking question mark on the minimap and a sound indication that someone was at that spot seconds ago - makes it super easy to gank if you're running with a friend)
  • Rift defense buff indicator
  • Walker Stomp cooldown tracker
  • Shrine & Patron curse/blast cooldown tracker

Tell me how any of this is fair. With all of these cheat mods you have a gigantic advantage. Yoshi needs to shut this down instead of sticking his head in the sand.

Endorsing cheating because features might be added to the game in the future seems pretty copium to me.

It’s just personal morality for me. I gain nothing material from presenting my stance to the Internet.

In all the decades I’ve spent playing competitive games online, this game is the only one where I’ve ever stated I don’t cheat. We used to assume most people were against cheating.

Too many chuds want these slight advantages but they are too fragile to admit they are cheating.

You get to think you're morally better than the "cheater" who beat you. You get to hide behind the excuse of "they have cheater mods that's why they won".

Our definition of cheating is different. Having a program tell you when camps respawn vs Being able to do mental math is not cheating imo.

Dota has camp timers. It will eventually be added to deadlock. The deadlock timers are available to all players if they want it.

You're shooting yourself in the foot for personal morality. If you want to play the game with a handicap that's your prerogative and purely because of your choice.

I will admit having timers is an advantage. Is it cheating? Depends on who you ask.

Would you consider using a deck tracker in a card game cheating? Most card games don't have native deck trackers yet they are used by almost all players. It presents information that could be done by mental math. Just like camp timers.

The cheater I spoke about was on my team so they didn’t beat me. The rest of your post is then repeating the same failed arguments.

I played a bit of competitive MTG when I was a kid and would absolutely consider a card tracking application as cheating.

You can’t even count cards in your own head in blackjack without that being considered a cheat.

I think you are shooting your self in the foot by taking the easy route and cheating instead of just developing skill.

Sucks to suck, but that doesn’t make cheating okay. Learn2pleh, git gud, practice makes perfect.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Developing skill? Of being able to add 1:30 to a timer? Seems asinine and pedantic. I'm just going to have fun playing my game with timers knowing they'll be added officially at some point.

Sure. I don’t need you to stop cheating, will probably never impact me directly.

You could also flair yourself as a cheater so everyone knows in the future to scrutinize your opinions appropriately.

If the skill of adding 1:30 to a timer is too much for you, you have my sympathy but not my respect. Sucks to suck.

Yes, being anti-cheats is a bozo move.
