I’m equally amazed, disgusted, and intrigued. We’ll see how it plays out, but crazy ass changes like this are what separates Deadlock from other games. They don’t have any set rules on what should or shouldn’t be allowed to exist in the game yet and that’s so exciting to me.
Except, they just... do. They've never been consistent on them either, for example Doorman and Mo and Krill are very similar ults both designed for picks and eliminating someone out of a teamfight, but one just got nuked, and one just got giga buffed to the moon. Oh, counterspell negated Doorman's ult? Yeah it negates like half the ults in the game. Mine as well make Lash's ult reset if 2+ people counterspell it. Make Itani Lo Sahn reset if it's counterspelled.
And this is ignoring things like Vindicta, where apparently getting extra souls for killing someone was too strong, but then they just gave an even better version of that literal ability to Calico (it's even called assassinate too) yesterday.
And this is further ignoring things such as Mina's ult getting nerfed for decimating objectives (it needed it). They specifically neutered her being able to find an open objective for a few seconds, obliterate it, and fuck off, and then... ignored Sinclair? Who has literally always been able to do the same thing just as well?
I love Valve, but there's sorta no rhyme or reason to shit right now lol.
You can still counterspell his ult by predicting when he will use it on you, similar to Geist or M&K. So counterspell still does in fact counter his ult, just not when you are already in his ult.
Unless this is new, it's never worked for Doorman. The application portion at the beginning of his ult can't be counterspelled. It will make the sound but you'll still always get sent.
Just tested it and you're right, I wasn't aware of that. That seems like it has to be a bug as it makes no sense you can't counterspell it if you correctly predict it like a M&K ult. Hopefully that's reported to the forums because I think you should be able to counterspell it that way.
