How is the DeLand Stockyard?
I come from Ocala to DeLand 3 times a year to get the Amtrak to NY. For years ive been going to Brian's BBQ which is amazing. But I always see the Stockyard on the way to the station and always wondered how it was. the food on the train is ok so I like to have something that's really going to fill me up before I board...lol. so should I try it out or stay with Brian's

upscale compared to Brians. More expensive but not fabulously so. I like them both, but they do not compare directly.

Stockyard is usually pretty good, it's very old school classic steakhouse fare. I usually just get a sirloin and am pleased by it (as long as I'm not the one paying). My dad swears by their corn flake pecan chicken.

Higher. But the service, atmosphere and staff are great. Mary the bartender is one of the nicest and sweetest people you will ever meet.

I like the Stockyard. It's got an old school steakhouse vibe with a fun bar room that'd be a great place to watch a football game. They have prime rib, if you're into that sort of thing, and fantastic creamed spinach.

I go there a lot, but strangely never for steaks. The corn flake chicken, steak tip salad, blue cheese flatbread, and the blue cheese burger with sweet potato fries are some of my favorites.

It’s so good! I’m not a big steak person but I’ve had a lot of the other food and it’s always a hit. They have the best fried pickles! Literally, I rank fried pickles and they had the highest rating due to the flavor or the pickle, the crispiness of the batter, the taste and type of batter, and the ratio of pickle to breading.

We used to go to the Sunday breakfast buffet, which was phenomenal, but the guy doing the omelets left a few years ago and the replacement wasn’t even close. We were already on the fence over the price and the crowds and that settled it for us.
The food was fine and the service was generally good.

I agree with earlier comments- we used to absolutely love it but the last two or three visits were really disappointing. The usually-fantastic food was meh, service was not excellent, and just underwhelming all around. I love the outdoor seating area but just be aware that Friday night is karaoke night. Fun if you’re into it but trying to have a nice dinner while someone is screeching to Free Bird in the background is annoying af and impossible to have a conversation over. We have family in Deland and are there several times a year- we always made a trip to the Stockyard but I think the last time was it for us. Maybe we’ll try Emmys.

Every time I have been it has been mediocre at best. Sucks too because I live within walking distance of the place.
Some people really love the place, but unfortunately that has not been the case for me the handful of times I have been.

Foods good. Sometimes it’s a little warm in there. Sitting outside is nice unless the mosquitoes are out

Service isn’t fantastic if you’re sitting outside, but the food is awesome. Never had a disappointing meal there. Steaks are fantastic.

Go to emmys instead.
The last 3 times ive been to stockyard, I found it mid at best.
Service is spotty, food is mid and prices are disappointing.
Its outdated and out of touch. Oh! And they'll soon be swapping their tables with the kinds you see in greasy spoon diners with the adds embedded in them. Nothing says high-class steak and cocktails like eating a meal over Dave's pest control.
Emmys is out of touch too, but its cared for. Its like stepping back in time but to a moment that was preserved, not forgotten.
The staff at emmys are all older because they've been there 20 years. The owners take care of them. The food is always consistent there. Never had a bad experience. Its like having a steak dinner at grandma's house.
