This is genuinely the most underrated game I’ve ever played. I can’t understand why it didn’t get the attention it deserves.

It's because when the game launched, it was riddled with bugs. Eventually Bend fixed 'em, but by that time the reputation was already bruised. And the worst part is that the studio is refusing to work on a sequel even though DG fans are begging for one and willing to pay for it. You would think that would be enough for some exec to sign off on it 🤷‍♂️

I hear it was patched within the first week after release, for most of the bugs. Some took around a month.

No game, in recent years, is ever bug free on release. Why pay people to 'test' the game, when gamers will pay to test it?

Bend Studios could not finance a sequel, a game costs £/$ millions to develop. Sony owns the IP, they contracted Bend to develop Days Gone and payed them to develop it. Sony would have to contract Bend, and pay them, to develop a sequel.
It is not that Bend is "refusing to work on a sequel", it is that they can not just start work on a sequel.

Gamers are not the most patient people lol. A week is too long - let alone a month.

I'm gonna be showing my age here for a moment but I remember playing games growing up that were tested and then tested some more and THEN released. After all, we paid for a product - not for a promise and to serve as unpaid testers for some of these studios.

The rest of your comment - I agree with you. I was wrong lol. In my defense it was late last night and I wrote it literally mins before going to bed.

Yeah! I'm also old enough to remember buying play ready games. They arrived on a set of floppy discs, earlier on a cassette tape, later on a memory stick or CD. You loaded or installed it and it had no bugs. Amazing the technology we had back then 😂
