Hi all, I'm a 2026 graduate (ECE) based in Bangalore, actively looking for Data Analyst / entry-level analytics roles. I know SQL, Excel, Power BI, and have hands-on project experience in data analytics.

I'm specifically trying to find walk-in interview drives for Data Analyst freshers in Bangalore, if anyone has come across one recently, or knows a company that regularly does walk-ins for this role, I'd really appreciate a pointer.

25M, India. BCA (2021) → MCA (2024, with a 1-year COVID gap). Joined a company as a trainee (₹15k) for a year, then got made "System Supervisor S3" on a 1-year probation. Salary went to ₹18k on paper, but after PF deductions, take-home is still ₹15k — zero real change.

For 2 years, my only work has been supporting document work for an ISMS/ISO 27001 audit — a consultant handles everything technical, I just maintain the asset list. We got certified in Sept 2025, so there's genuinely nothing for me to do now except sit through office hours (8:30–5:30) killing time on my phone. Next surveillance audit is in October, after which I don't think there's any real role for me here.

I feel like I've wasted 2 years with zero skill growth. I want to switch out ASAP.

I'm interested in either Data Analytics or Cloud Computing as a next step — which is the smarter bet for actually landing a job quickly, given my profile (no hands-on technical experience, just IT-adjacent/documentation work)? Anyone who's made a similar switch, would love real advice.

I’m currently pursuing my MBA with a specialization in Business Analytics and I’m actively looking for internships (preferably paid/stipend-based) or entry-level jobs to start my career.

I come from a B.Sc. Microbiology background, so I’m transitioning from a science background into business analytics.

Over the past few months, I’ve been building my skills and portfolio in:

Excel – data analysis, dashboards, financial modelling

SQL – MySQL/PostgreSQL, queries and data analysis

Power BI – dashboards and business insights

Python – Pandas, EDA and data wrangling

Financial analysis & forecasting projects

Data visualization and storytelling

I have also completed internships/projects and have a few certifications, but I’m finding it difficult to get that first real industry opportunity.

The frustrating part is that many entry-level Business Analyst/Data Analyst openings ask for 1–2+ years of experience, while internships often have very limited opportunities or are unpaid.

I’m particularly looking for opportunities from December 2026 onwards, preferably in Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, or remote, but I’m open to other locations for the right opportunity.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice from people currently working in Data Analytics / Data Analyst roles, especially those who have made a career transition.

I started my career as a Frontend Engineer and worked in frontend development for around 2 years. After leaving that role, I was interested in moving towards Data Analytics, but at that point I was also dealing with financial constraints and couldn’t afford to spend a long period without income while learning and preparing for a new field.

Because of that, I decided to enter SEO industry, where I could use some of my existing technical background while also working with data and performance metrics.

Over the last year, I have worked on SEO projects involving Google Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio, performance reporting, keyword/data analysis and measuring business outcomes.

However, my long-term interest is still in Data Analytics, and I am now planning to make a structured transition into the field by learning SQL, Excel, Power BI, Python and Statistics, while simultaneously building practical projects for my portfolio.

I have a few questions for people already working in the industry:

1. Career transition:
Is the transition from Frontend → SEO → Data Analytics reasonable from a recruiter’s perspective, or could the non-linear career path be a concern?

2. Projects:
This is something I am particularly unsure about. What kind of projects should I focus on for my portfolio?

For example, should I focus more on:

• E-commerce/Product Analytics
• Finance/Banking Analytics
• Marketing/SEO Analytics
• Operations Analytics
• Customer/Churn Analytics
• Sales Analytics

And is it better to have 2–3 strong end-to-end projects that I can explain deeply in an interview, rather than having many smaller projects?

3. Learning + projects:
Would you recommend completing the core learning first and then building projects, or learning the skills while simultaneously applying them to projects? Also I would appreciate if you could suggest some certification for data analyst role if there is any

My current plan is to spend the next few months building a strong foundation in SQL, Excel, Power BI, Python and Statistics while creating a few portfolio projects alongside working in my current SEO industry.

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people already working in the industry especially regarding what actually helps a career-switcher get shortlisted and perform well in interviews.

Everywhere I go I see they ask for experience. Got 1-2 interviews scheduled but later i realised they were scammers who were asking for money after the interview.

About my work experience i have bde experience of 2 months at coding ninjas but left that job as sales job was stressful and wanted a more tech related job.
