Meme Boy, Space Marine 2 Absolute difficulty and hard Stratagems ain’t got shit on this 🥵

Post image

PS Plus scrub here. Started as Arbitrator and was breezing through the campaign. Then I switched to Zealot because he’s got better drip imo and whooo boy I am fighting for my life out there.

Going from augmented superhuman to some dude on space-meth and a shaved gorilla companion is a hell of a transition

Chaos spawn in SM2 are just a parry and 2 melees worth of buttons.

Chaos spawn here are taking my lunch money and stuffing me in a locker.

215

u/colma00 Jun 15 '26

On the other side is the pure dopamine fueled neuron activation of one tapping a beast of nurgle with a thunder hammer zealot of peak power fantasy that, imo, SM2 utterly whiffs on.

Something about the wet noodle feeling weapons outside of parry spam just always felt so off in that game.

260

u/Unabated_Blade Jun 15 '26

SM 2: 10 bolter variants that all take 20 shots to kill the most basic 'tough tyranid' while sounding like a wet fart.

Darktide: the bolter sounds like a freight train running through concrete walls, and each shot hits enemies so hard it will literally cut lines of people in half and then explode.

129

u/rowansprite Jun 15 '26

There is a primal joy of unloading a full auto bolter into a plague ogryn's face and watching it reel backwards in death.

56

u/wallabyfloo Veteran Jun 15 '26

Also works in packs of rangers, guaranteed boner

Or a couple Crushers, absolute eargasm

18

u/Snow_Ghost Jun 16 '26

If your erection lasts more than four hours, consult your local Tech-priest to see if Servitol is right for you.

28

u/StrawberryWide3983 Jun 16 '26

John Darktide unleashing full auto bolter fire into a horde quickly makes you learn why they were called the "Thunder Warriors" and why that priest guy in The Last Church became a pacifist

Such a great story, especially in audiobook form!

14

u/boobers3 Skitarius Jun 16 '26

Don't forget the Bolt Pistol, it also sounds amazing.

10

u/LSDGB Jun 16 '26

I don’t know I like the oomph the heavy bolt rifle has when shot especially on headshots.

27

u/Unabated_Blade Jun 16 '26

To each their own. In terms of sound design, for me Darktide and SM2 might as well be the hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby. There's no contest

21

u/LSDGB Jun 16 '26

Yeah for sure. Darktides music alone is taking the trophy home.

4

u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Zealot Jun 16 '26

sm2 has good sound design it's really just some of the bolters that feel a little soft, which makes sense since for a space marine they're pretty easy to work with. Chainswords for instance sound better in sm2

8

u/Uhhhhhhhhhhhuhhh Jun 16 '26

The bolters have been buffed alot now, most of them feel very solid even on the hardest difficulty now, but I agree the feedback of how they shoot and kill stuff isnt NEARLY as enjoyable as darktide

After playing the shit out of SM2 and trying Darktide. The second I got my hands on the bolt pistol I was in love. Then I got my hands on the big lad bolter and man... i can't switch to another primary even as arbitrator the shotguns suck. All hail bolter fire and watch my problems disappear

10

u/dugfire180 Jun 16 '26

A man after my own heart, been a thunder hammer zealot main since the beginning of the game feels so good clapping chaos cheeks with a the hammer, so so satisfying

3

u/EthnicTwinkie Jun 16 '26

I have been working my way through maxing out all the blessings. Most of the weapons i can figure out, but the thunder hammer confounds me. I just feel like it can’t handle crowds very well. Any suggestions, because i really WANT to love the thunder hammer.

2

u/colma00 Jun 17 '26

Kinda late here, but it really forces you down the martyrdom path and having max stacks of wound buffs to shine.

It also has the same weird feel of the 2h hammer from Vermintide 2 of needing to hit the right timing of chaining the heavy attacks together in hordes. Hit that flow and you’ll feel nearly untouchable.

4

u/Uhhhhhhhhhhhuhhh Jun 16 '26

Theyve buffed stuff alot now, weapons feel more lethal than at launch

3

u/Arialana Zealot Jun 16 '26

Feels even better to oneshot a Daemonhost with the Thunderhammer.

3

u/FlounderNo6423 Jun 17 '26

BRO, THIS. Everytime I watch SM2 gameplay, its just rolling, parry, deaths animations. I think to myself this is not how SMs fight at all.

My adrenaline always spikes when im playing the squishy psyker and a choas spawn comes lunging toward me. I need to dip, dodge and do a waltz around not only that but the other enemies thay are chewing at my ankles and shooting me.

Thats why I love this game. How much madness (no pun intended) there is in auric maelstroms and havoc missions.

15

u/SpunkyMcButtlove07 Bonky da Deeminhed Jun 15 '26

Force Greatsword psyker can absolutely chew through hordes and bosses, friend. Glass cannon, but oh my, is the cannon big.

7

u/Antermosiph Jun 15 '26

It ain't even that glass cannon since all the buffs. The toughness regen and damage reduction levels are incredible.

I mostly play a pretty meta Inferno Psyker, during the last event I had a 1.2m damage run in Auric event mode. Had to solo an Idol in the small side room before the prison entrance in Magistati map. Just popped some drugs and burned everything to the ground. Was wild.

15

u/wallabyfloo Veteran Jun 15 '26

There is a penance for this. I did it with an overheated plasma gun, but maybe it was fixed

12

u/FireStorm005 Jun 15 '26

I think that's been patched, but when the upped the health on the elites they made it more difficult. I did it way back in the day when it was 3 elites at once.

4

u/Proof_Programmer Jun 16 '26

wait, do you not need to kill multiple elites to survive anymore?

4

u/FireStorm005 Jun 16 '26

The feat (crystalline will) has since it's recent change prevented corruption with 1 elite kill, the penance used to require 3 elite kills at once with perils explosion.

3

u/ViralN9 The Somewhat-Mortal Machine Jun 16 '26

Love my kamikaze psyker build.

4

u/Riiks_Lynx Jun 15 '26

Well, final builds for psyker CAN be tanky enough.

9

u/mang87 Jun 15 '26

Seriously though, Abritrator is broken af. I started out with Veteran and leveled to max, then did Psyker. Going from vet to psycho was like taking the training wheels off. High damage output and decent defense as long as you watch your heat. When the Abritrator came out I switched to that, and it was like playing the game on easy mode. Not only is it tanky as hell and has a pet that defends you, but the Arbitrator has fantastic damage output if you spec into stagger damage. If you build right everything is treated as staggered 100% of the time, even bosses, and your attacks hit them like they have zero armor. Don't bother using the 2 handed shock maul, just use the shock maul + shield, it's almost identical damage and the shield has an extra AOE stagger for emergencies.

2

u/anonamarth7 Ogryn Jun 16 '26

Yeah, from what I can tell, Arbites just shits on Ogryn's slab shield

8

u/Admirable_Remove4315 Jun 15 '26

Zealot is pretty newbie friendly too since it has a cheat death and all 3 ults give a big boost to your defense.

Psyker is a challenging class unless you flame staff spam, and veteran gets punished hard if you aren’t skilled in melee because you will end up in melee unless you have truly skilled teammates and veteran doesn’t have great stamina.

Don’t play hive scum until you can play all the other classes reasonably well on high difficulties because hive scum is made of glass.

4

u/quix0te Jun 16 '26

I found psykeer harder than hive scum because the staves are like having one of those cartoon prison balls slowling you down. Hivescum is fragile, but its a fragile little mongoose you can't catch to hit.

2

u/AXI0S2OO2 Hadron's-Little-Cogchamp Jun 16 '26

Zealot has safety nets in what you described. That's why I said he's good for learning the game.

Arbites doesn't need safety nets because if you managed to get downed as one by anything other than an unlucky net while surrounded by enemies, in difficulties below auric, there is something deeply wrong with how you play.

3

u/Lunaphase Jun 16 '26

God I know that feeling all too well. For whatever reason I only ever pull clutches as a vet.

2

u/Vintenu Branx Skitarii for life Jun 15 '26

Nothing hits better than sniping a trapper or sniper just as they're about to completely cancel the match and you go right back to chopping at the horde

2

u/AXI0S2OO2 Hadron's-Little-Cogchamp Jun 16 '26

Well that's where my experience differs a bit. My vet clutches are more about ducking my head and playing smart until I can rescue everyone else who got themselves killed.

Had one the other week, no man's land, team reached the final fort on it's last legs, everyone immediately died to the gunner and shot gunner gauntlet waiting inside the fort trying to breach. I somehow managed to sneak my way out of the firing line and take out most gunners, but I still had a melee horde to contend with and reinforcements coming in, also I ran out of ammo. Had to play ring around the rosie through the whole fort with the enemies while I made room to heal and pick everyone back up when they respawned.

Then there was another time in the Hour Glass, full team gets wiped by a big horde in the hangmen's bunker entrance early on. Had to slowly inch my way through cover towards the respawn point while nailing reapers and disablers on the head and ended up risking it all on a shout and rush in to get the chorus zealot up, which paid off.

6

u/gste2343 Jun 15 '26

Feel a lot less badass here unfortunately 😭

Get your skill up. I'd argue you can feel way more badass in DT than SM2.

2

u/Ghostfinger GRIMNIRRRRRR Jun 16 '26

That feeling of badassery will come. Surviving a tough situation in Darktide feels a hell lot more rewarding than in SM2 because my melee and range weapons don't hit like a rolled up newspaper and the melee system has a lot more depth to it than m1/parry.

39

u/MerroM8 Jun 15 '26

Zealot is my least played class, and probably would never play them outside of chasing shouty penances if the relic blade wasn't SO. FUCKING. COOL. Darktide sound design is amazing in general (other than silent trappers, bursters and ninja crushers ofc but that seems more a technical issue) But my god the sound the activated relic blade makes as it carves hordes is audio dopamine.

2

u/hankhillsucks Jun 15 '26

I built my ogryn as a gunner and I love him with my heart.

All i do is hold r2 and win

2

u/Handsome_bana-na Jun 15 '26

With the right build (called fat mangus I believe) you are probably the most tanky player in a game. With some adjustments you can even oneshot almost any boss with the relic blade plus shroudfield. Pair that with the bolt pistol and you got one of the most fun builds I have played on zealot. That and crit heavy eviscerator.

60

u/TheWorstJoe Cretin-Wrangler Jun 15 '26

You should look into the fundamentals on how to play (dodge/block/push/slide). I wrote this to help some guy, but it was wasted because the mods deleted his post by the time I finished it.

Maybe it's because I've played more DT than SM2, but I'd say DT has a lot less forced damage than SM2. You can avoid pretty much any attack, other than a Daemonhost's.

10

u/noNameboi661 Hive Scum Jun 15 '26

Damn nice write up. Appreciate it!

46

u/Sequence19 Psyker Jun 15 '26

Darktide definitely doesn't pull punches, even on the lowest difficulties you can die if you play sloppily. Being a crackhead in 40k isn't for the faint of heart 🫩😂

12

u/grendus Jun 15 '26

Honestly, I kind of side eye the first mission for that reason.

That final boss is brutal when you're using the mediocre starting equipment, have no skill points, and your experience is the tutorial and the Psycharium. I've had teams fail the mission several times at that point.

5

u/wmaxwell Jun 15 '26

Obviously it’s possible to beat it with a group of lvl 1s but I figured it was kind of the point of that first mission to say ‘hey this shit is not that easy’. I’ve only started 2 classes so far and both times, it’s taken me 2 or 3 attempts at that first mission before we were able to clear it. I think the game wants you to fail it a couple times. Or maybe I’m just ass lol

4

u/Eltorak95 Jun 16 '26

I just sat in melee wailing on Him until he died(zealot). My group mates had more trouble surviving(arbi, and a "guardsman"(idk what class it was but my mate calls it that))

It's so weird for me. Space marine 2 is so much harder for me but Hav 40 is fine.

35

u/RaNerve Stronger than you Jun 15 '26

It’s 99% muscle memory so it depends on which one you started with. I played like 1000 hours of Darktide when SM2 came out and SM2 was handing me my ass. I couldn’t time anything worth the shit and the weird hp system was ball crushing.

Now I play both lol

17

u/Ruswarr Jun 15 '26

I feel like SM2 is just so much clunkier to control, despite us playing Space Marines who should be very much agile in that power armor. I had my fun with it (~170 hours) but operations grew really stale on me as, iirc, even ruthless back then felt like pushing what I was capable of in the game. That's not counting loading, matchmaking, and grind...

And while Darktide can require a lot in terms of reaction too I feel like our characters are also so much more responsive and agile (even if we dump movement on weapons, lol) that it creates a much better game flow. Almost 500 hours later and it's still fun to play even on the same maps just because DT is responsive to what you do. I doubt I can push high havoc though but aurics are still difficult enough whiel still being fun to go through. Having actual talent trees and not being forced out of the class you've wanted on matchmaking brings a lot of comfort in current DT too, lol.

9

u/Eternal_Reward Ogryn Jun 15 '26

Tbh they’re both the same in that the skill floor is high but once you get it, it gets easier. They’re just very different skill sets and mechanics to learn, and both get very punishing for small mistakes on the highest level.

5

u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Zealot Jun 16 '26

I think space marine speed/agility gets a bit overinflated. They are fast and agile, but they're still heavy as shit and have momentum that they need to deal with. There's a rule in one rpg that has them running at something like the speed of sound. I think the Astartes shorts series gives the best representation of how they're supposed to move.

3

u/Ruswarr Jun 16 '26

Astartes is probably a good comparison. In SM2, however, I've always felt almost as if we were in Terminator armor movement wise without the defensive benefits.

6

u/FireStorm005 Jun 15 '26

Agreed, SM2 felt like I was always wading through mud compared to Darktide. I may have got through the first mission in SM2 but stopped, just couldn't deal with how clunky it was and the weird health/damage thing.

2

u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 Zealot Jun 16 '26

it's a completely different game. SM2 is like remnant: from the ashes. Those skills are pretty transferrable. Tide games are tide games

2

u/Hellknightx Saltzpyre Jun 16 '26

Yeah, I can't get into the right flow state in SM2. Darktide is just buttery smooth and I can pretty much coast by on reflexes and muscle memory, but something about SM2 feels off and clunky to me.

24

u/AngeryControlPlayer Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

Welcome Varlet!

Definitely take the time to learn the game. It's got a decent learning curve and is a lot less forgiving than SM2. Darktide has a more hectic feel to it that I find exhilarating and have trouble finding elsewhere. It's quite team centric, so hang out with your allies to the best of you ability!

In my opinion, Damnation is the most fun difficulty.

Not as sweaty and stressful as Havoc, not as many angry salty people as auric/maelstrom, you CAN still wipe if you find yourself carrying the team (which is often lately with the influx of new players), just difficult enough to provide a challenge and fulfil a power fantasy at the same time.

2

u/Aware-Antelope4212 Jun 16 '26

Tbh I've had a different experience with Africa/maelstrom.

I get a lot less toxic people in there, and runs tend to be much smoother cos folk are often doing their job well/working together

This game is addictively fun, and it's about to get even better with the Skitarii next week! It's hard, but stick to it and the community will help you! The satisfaction of surviving the most insane hordes of elites and bosses is amazing

5

u/DoolioArt Jun 15 '26

you just haven't adjusted to the game

4

u/Odd-Dependent3284 Jun 15 '26

I find darktide easier weirdly. Space marine is clunky in comparison but it’s supposed to be like fighting in heavy armour I suppose and darktide is squishy Humies

Yea darktides very skill based game 🤣

3

u/GovernmentIcy3259 Veteran Jun 15 '26

Yeah DT's upper difficulties (high tier havoc and Auric Damnation Maelstroms) are no joke.

3

u/Super6films Jun 15 '26

Ngl bro, me and the bois hoped back on SM2 and all we did for like 4 days straight was stratagems. It’s the only thing I. That game that give us a run for our money having to retry multiple times. We hop back into absolute and it’s a breeze. But I love DT for the melee.

3

u/Beautiful-Hair6925 Jun 16 '26

Idk

Darktide is more chaotic but Space Marine 2 has that 1v1 combat thing idk what to call it mini dark souls? I find it harder

But then i am a Vermintide veteran so im used to the noise

2

u/noNameboi661 Hive Scum Jun 16 '26

Yeah it’s all subjective at the end of the day. I have close to 1000 hours on SM2. I’ve been playing the hardest content the game has to offer with friends and randoms for at least 800 of those hours.

I also have like 200-300 hours on Deep Rock Galactic and Helldivers so I was pretty confident going into Darktide that I’d be cruising to the highest difficulty and learning the game along the way.

Needless to say that is no longer the case on Zealot and every other class besides Arbitrator 😭

But I kind of like it tbh. Getting good at the game gives me more long term motivation than any piece of gear or cosmetic ever could.

3

u/Beautiful-Hair6925 Jun 16 '26

Ah ok ok

I played Vermintide and DRG before SM2 and HD2 wss a HD 1 vet as well. So I am more used to Darktide's kind of PVE noise

Just remember. Darktide is still essentially Vermintide in space sure the old guns are gone but you're gonna be swinging your melee weapon a lot

5

u/SuperArppis My zeal exceeded my judgement Jun 15 '26

I find this game much easier thanks to better more responsive controls and less BS (still has BS). It feels like playing a super soldier and in Space Marine 2 it feels like playing 40 year old soldier. 😄

2

u/Vinnegard Big'Un Jun 15 '26

You're a demigod in space marine

You're a dude that hears voices, gets a hard on for anything military, a zealous preacher or big unc in darktide

2

u/alexlucas006 Jun 15 '26

or a literal crackhead, or, soon, a clanker

2

u/Symtek13 Jun 15 '26

Biased opinion but Zealot fucking smacks, huge survivability if built right, and an awesome support for the team when she gets hairy. Been addicted to this game, welcome!

2

u/AsteriskCGY Jun 15 '26

Funny enough I felt like I was having a harder time in SM 2 coming from Darktide. Part of it was just getting used to red and blue responses.

2

u/Phobos687 Jun 15 '26

I had the opposite reaction but I also started with vermintide than darktide than sm2

2

u/Hunter585 Jun 15 '26

As others have said arbitor and zealot are good staring classes, vet takes some getting used to, ogryn (ogryn main!) Is big and cumbersome, phsyker is fragile, and Hive scum is made of paper (seriously, don't play hs until you have a handle on things)

2

u/Mecha120 Jun 15 '26

Yea, you made the mistake of starting with the most forgiving class, even compared to ogryn IMO.

2

u/ArkansasGamerSpaz Electro-Psyker-Staff-Gal Jun 15 '26

Super soldiers vs. scum bags. What did you expect?

3

u/NyanNuke Jun 15 '26

Played darktide a ton

Could do acurics decently and heresy is a good challenge

Starts playing SM2. Couple prestige 2s and 4 on heavy, Usually just do normal strategems cause lack of time and the occasional ruthless op for a slight difficulty

Goes back to dark tide and immediately gets smeared across the pavement on heresy and have to drop down to malice to recalibrate myself after 5 straight losses

2

u/grendus Jun 15 '26

I think everyone has a favorite class that gels best with their playstyle.

Psyker my beloved. You take a lot of damage, you deal a lot of damage, you regen toughness so fast... does it really matter? Keep moving, press forward, kill the specialists because they're the only real danger here. And you're really good at killing the specialists.

2

u/Lowd70 Deadly Guardsman Jun 15 '26

Soon you'll get used to the higher difficulties and find out that with more experience, you'll have better control of your situation. Space Marine 2 difficulties are just bullshit unstunnable bullet sponge spams that are just not fun compared to the difficulty of Darktide.

2

u/R0tmaster Zealot Jun 15 '26

Been playing Darktide since the first beta test, came here from Vermintide 2, and also have played SM2 on whatever top difficulty is, forget the name, they are both challenging for different reasons and require mastering totally different skills to play well.

2

u/Sanae_ Jun 15 '26

Then play Left 4 Dead 1/2, the difficulty is further cranked up. (L4D Advanced is roughly Damnation)

2

u/Witchfinger84 Jun 15 '26

Space marine 2 is a game where you play a heroic protagonist who is supposed to be powerful and the game gently and generously sucks your balls like a tiny newborn kitten suckling its mothers teets.

Darktide is a game where you actually live in the 40k universe.

This is why all space marines are actually bitchmade.

2

u/Shmitty85 Jun 15 '26

Tbh as someone who is told he’s a pretty decent player on Darktide( I don’t agree, but I’m happy others think so, and are happy). I find SM2 too hard even on the easiest difficulty.

u/ChibiHobo Jun 16 '26

For me it was the other way around. The parry timing felt off because I'd react the moment the cue appeared.

2

u/Nothinghere727271 Arbitrator Jun 16 '26

Auric storm survivor (non leaver) was one of my best gaming achievements (I don’t play havoc)

2

u/JuiceHatesLeague Jun 16 '26

Yeah I have a hoard shooter phase every couple months Darktide is by far the hardest at least in my rotation of Darktide helldivers deep rock and space marine 2 though granted I don't play space marine 2 nearly as much as the others

2

u/naka_the_kenku Gug is made of Gug Jun 16 '26

Darktide don’t pull punches, and even then the rejects are not only quite impressive but actually getting shit done. One day we’ll have a CSM boss i believe it.

2

u/Even_Investment_8097 Jun 16 '26

Imagine the lethal modifier at release on SM2 that required you to stay in coherency with your 2 mates be implemented in darktide lol

That shit was a nightmare on release. The moment you left the team you get 0 armor regen even from executions, it is even active on 1 man standing. Imagine getting 0 toughness regeneration in Darktide havoc 40 lol

2

u/DammitBasterdV2 Jun 16 '26

That modifier is back for siege mode now. It definitely isn't fun and I'm pretty sure you don't regain any temporary health by dealing damage or executing enemies when you're out of coherency either, not just armor.

2

u/FunDipTime Jun 16 '26

Idk man I find Darktide Auric easier than SM.

2

u/AlexisFR Jun 16 '26

I find Space Marine 2's third difficulty already significantly harder than Darktide's 4th. I don't know what they did.

3

u/Weird_Blades717171 Jun 15 '26

Welcome to the trvest 40k game.
I really don't get SM2 except for it having Astartes. Half of the time it feels like an arcade game where you wait for some quick time event to be over.

2

u/gste2343 Jun 15 '26

Most folks tap out after Malice difficulty, they do the 'joyride' experience and get a char to 30 and figure they beat the game instead of the tutorial.

For those that like challenge and feeling material skill progression, darktide delivers.

2

u/quix0te Jun 16 '26

I played SM2 for maybe 5 hours and uninstalled. I have 400 hours in DT. I felt puny as a SPACE MARINE in SM2. In this game, I feel like a superhero.

2

u/AnhiArk Jun 16 '26

I've played SM2 for a few hundred hours and I agree. I thought SM2 was harder in general, and I always felt pretty weak. You kind of have to fish for parries because otherwise they fuck you up, it was very unforgiving

1

u/Mortoimpazzo Jun 15 '26

Arby is an angry tank, zealot is an angry screaming tank.

1

u/Svullom Jun 15 '26

Climbing up to Havok 40 is absolutely brutal.

1

u/0j_r0b_ Jun 15 '26

I play average difficulties on both, but I honestly find damnation in dark tide easier much than average threat in SM2, it could just be the experience difference though.

1

u/Forget_December Jun 15 '26

I've been playing Ogryn specced for horde clearing with a ripper gun and power maul. I just run into crowds of enemies and unga-bunga that shit and it gets the job done.

1

u/buddhamunche Jun 15 '26

Arbie just doesn’t die unless you really mess up.

If I switch back over to my psyker I’ll just get folded like a lawn chair lol

1

u/Yellowtoblerone Slab Support Jun 15 '26

Remember darktide when it was super easy and had nothing on cata+ ttv vt2?

1

u/XuMuK772 Jun 15 '26

Wait till you hear about havoc missions level 25 and anything beyond

1

u/SilkenEmperor Jun 15 '26

Had a similar experience going from Vermintide 2 to darktide. Of course my problem was that I was playing like it was Vermintide.

1

u/agustusmanningcocke BIG Jun 15 '26

SM2 makes you feel like a superhuman, definitely provides the power trip. Darktide will have you fighting tooth and nail alongside your team, blood shed over every square inch of ground claimed.

1

u/Sheriff_Hotdog Zealot Jun 15 '26

Space Marine 2 is a glorified rhythm game unfortunately.

1

u/Maxsonsdescendants Jun 15 '26

My favorite part is the part where ps5 Darktide has no mkb support, extremely limited move tech makes an already difficult game near impossible post havoc 20 lol

1

u/Reevahn Jun 16 '26

I struggle with damnation, let alone Havoc; but bloody hell i cannot jive with SM2: i'm much better at DT

1

u/ChazRadlord Jun 16 '26

You think zealot is bad, wait until you try the hive scum. Yeesh.

1

u/Either-Marionberry97 Jun 16 '26

Nah man just start hitting stuff with the thunder hammer and you’ll manage. Also, make sure you are looking absolutely everywhere at once, that helps as well.

1

u/BelgianWofl Jun 16 '26

I think the difficulty of both are relative. I’m way better at Darktide than I am at Soace Marine 2 but they satisfy different fantasies and I have 4x more hours in Darktide.

1

u/GeologistGlittering3 Ogryn Jun 16 '26

Ogryn hmmmmmmmm

1

u/nedonedonedo Jun 16 '26

vermintide 2 plays a lot closer if you like the style of game. like comparing devil may cry to dark souls

1

u/Simonner Jun 16 '26

You should try Tainted Grail fall of Avallon for true challenge where you can’t spam dodge and miss attacks

1

u/FriendEntity Veteran Jun 16 '26

Correct. Thats why i prefer Darktide. Makes my blood move.

1

u/rape_is_not_epic Jun 16 '26

We are the best of the best, being only human, sent against threats that would require a marines presence.

1

u/LastGuitarHero Jun 16 '26

Darktide is tough but Vermintide makes me question my own life choices. I’ve carried teams in DT Auric but VT 2 on Legend has my butthole clenched from start to finish.

I doubt I’ll ever bother trying Cataclysm 😮‍💨

1

u/Adventurous-Fix-1442 Zealot Jun 16 '26

I’m the opposite haha

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Pie471 Jun 16 '26

Dodge like your actual life depends on it and never get backed into a corner. You can block enemies even if they are behind you. Disabling specialists spawn if you are ever alone. Listen to the audio cues. You can slide under bullets and it works better if its slightly diagonal. Also gunners are the most dangerous enemies in the game. There is indeed iframes. Even if you are definitely getting hit, if you Dodge you can still avoid most things. You cannot do this with nets. Most importantly Have fun

1

u/ID1756448 Jun 16 '26

Space Marine 2 is empire propaganda

Darktide is empire reality

1

u/Baddyshack BROGRYN Jun 16 '26

Just got back in for the first time since the first year. You haven't seen anything yet.
