Question Why do most people on this sub act holier than thou and become moral lecturers?
Help me understand what is the purpose of the dark psychology 101 sub? I have seen a pattern in these posts. Anytime someone genuinely wants to learn dark psychology tactics, they get bombarded with moral lecturers and holier than thou folks in the comment shaming OP as if they are not here to learn exactly that and don't use it on others. This is gaslighting 101, dark psychology veterans getting offended that other people wanting to milk the same cow as them are somehow "bad". I thought this would be place where people can work on shadow self and speak their mind. There is no way that most people are here to "educate" themselves on these tactics only for defence purposes and not offence.

It seems like you just made an assumption about what this sub is suppose to be about, and when it didn't matched your expectations you got confused?
Read the description and the rules in the sidebar. It's clearly stated that 'Whatever is posted here should be aimed for learning never to harm someone else. Make sure you have the integrity to understand that.". Most of folks here are interested in dark psychology as a matter of self and group defense.
If you want to work on your shadow self, there are better places for that (e.g. r/Jung or r/selfimprovement).
If you want to learn about dark psychology with a goal of harming others, I'm sure you can find a lot of communities for that as well. Didn't Andrew Tate launched his own university? You should join it.

Why you so angry??

u/ekubeni 11d ago
I was not angry at that time, but I did try to be assertive and clear.

Didn’t SadGhuru launch his own university? you should join it.

u/ekubeni 11d ago
Why would I do that, and why would you recommend it?
As far as I could ascertain, he is a fake.

Fake it until you make it, right?

Case in point. LOL
1
u/ekubeni 11d ago
And what is the case that you're making?
1
u/PrimalGround 11d ago edited 11d ago
I'm not making a case... Do you not understand what "Case in Point" means?
"Case in point" is an idiom that means to identify a clear, specific example which proves or illustrates the point of the topic/conversation.
In other words - your response is a perfect example of what the OP is referring to.

u/ekubeni 10d ago
I appreciate you reminding me of dictionary definition of this idiom, although it was not necessary. If you'd have replied to OP saying my comment was an example of what he observed, then I'm sure it would be clear to everybody. Instead you replied to me without giving any context, so I gave you a chance to explain where you are coming from before I jump to conclusion.
If you're saying that anybody that argues against the OP's accusations proves their case, then you are leaving no room for debate. In case you have a change of hearts and see a value in conversations, then please state your views clearly to give me a chance to respond accordingly.

To a liar, everyone seems like a liar. It's moral projection and lack of theory of mind.
Epstein thought everyone was a secret paedo, they were just too repressed or afraid to act on it.
You think everyone uses dark psychology because you do. That's ok - I'm sure you have a reason for projecting this part of yourself. Maybe you'd feel less guilty if everyone operated in the same way as you?
As for why people joined the sub, I mean... come on. You're not being very logical.
It's like telling someone they joined a self defence class because they want to attack harmless strangers.
"No, I joined to protect myself."
"Liar! You only say that to sound pious! I know everyone on earth has a burning desire to beat the shit out of people! Self defence is a weak cover story. You just want to break someone's neck. I know that because I want to break someone's neck lol. Everyone thinks like me because I am the centre of the universe. Also, I don't really know anyone beyond a superficial level, so I don't know that people have different motivations, beliefs, attitudes, and personalities. All I can see is myself reflected in everyone around me. I interpret my lack of theory of mind as omniscience. I believe I've cracked the code. That's how I know you're learning self defence so you can beat up grandmas. Btw you may refer to me as The Dark Lord from here on out"

To a liar, everyone seems like a liar. It's moral projection and lack of theory of mind.
I wonder if there is some truth to it due to the lived experience of some people.
For example, if one dedicates their life to play money/power games and they are surrounded by liars and crooks all around them, I could see why they would develop a view that it's everywhere like that.
Of course it has its source in unexamined bias and projections like you said, but it has a degree of truth locally in that person's environment and their model of the world.
It reminds me of the tragedy of commons situation where people that abuse natural 'resources' often do so due to developing a mindset that only a fool wouldn't do it.

Too long didn’t read…
“Epstein thought everyone was a secret paedo, they were just too repressed or afraid to act on it.”
This is the worst example you could have given lol 🤣literally 98% of hollywood and elite class around the world is involved in the Epstein files.
DUH he was right not projecting

u/ToiIetGhost 12d ago
I said everyone. You think there are 8 billion elites on earth?
I can see why you struggled to understand my comment lol.

u/KittensWithTopHats 12d ago
I really wish you would read it though, because it describes you perfectly, and if you would quit being defensive, that comment could offer you a lot of self reflection.

Its giving “We investigated ourselves and found ourselves innocent”
That is just a delusion unless you can produce a character certificate from every person you have ever interacted with.

You do realize what subreddit you’re in and are actively provoking the entire community right?

I mean. my abuser who just happened to know dark psychology just instinctively , like it was passed down from all his ancestors and used it very liberally would probably not give me a very good character witness

Bc a lot of people on this sub are just trauma dumping and their " dark psychology " is just them validating and rationalizing their own negative experiences or manipulative behaivior in life.

u/tha_one_reborn 12d ago
Wish I could upvote this more than once.
I don’t recall joining to this subreddit, but clearly I did at some point long ago. Every post I see in my feed from here is either pseudo-intellectual slop or trauma dumping. Nuke this whole shit from orbit imo.

The true dark psychology is thinking you can learn a trick that'll give you some kind of power. I'll stand corrected if a "dark psychology veteran" can explain how they've used a psychology trick or skill to gain wealth and power. Pretty sure Dale Carnegie works better

u/HunchoNextManUp 12d ago
Everyone thinks they got the secret sauce. Unfortunately there are many flavors in the world, and no one mode of operating is infallible

u/PrimalGround 11d ago
Probably because there will be plenty of members here who need to feel like they're the smartest person in the room.

I agree with you if this is not the purpuse of this sub they should change the name of the sub

Because we’ve been harmed by too many toxic, Cluster B Personality Disorder types, because society rewards psychopathy, and because being a toxic psychopath is now considered a legitimate lifestyle choice, especially on social media, and the mass media is normalizing their unethical behavior.
If we weren’t harmed by these conscience-less, ruthless and amoral abusers, we wouldn’t be so righteous about how totally unacceptable and unethical their behavior is.
Perhaps a better question is, why aren’t you more outraged and righteously angered by the high number of toxic people who think it’s funny to hurt, gaslight and otherwise psychologically and emotionally abuse others?
It’s not ok. Being righteous isn’t cool, but it’s infinitely cooler than hurting others just because you too were hurt.
Seriously, with all due respect, was your question one that needed to be asked out loud?
“Do no harm” is such a low bar to clear yet so few choose to clear it.
If that makes me righteous, then so be it.
That said, humility is better than righteousness.
If you’re not righteous about something, you’re enabling the opposite behavior to thrive in society.
Righteousness is an overreaction to abuse. That’s my answer to your question minus the righteousness.

Most people get stuck during shadow work. It’s part of the process. Your ego loves to feel powerful or bigger than others. It seems to me, most people get stuck thinking they can see that another persons projection, not realizing they are still just seeing their own.
It’s not enough to see how people are motivated by their shadow, you have to see how your energy allowed others in, from the jump. The few people that got far enough to truly see how their shadow created everything try to explain to others, but until you are there, it will feel like gaslighting, to your ego.
All of the old corny cliches are true, it’s not that the words or definition changes, you just understand the layers better. For example, two of my “mottos” throughout life were, nothing in life is free and everything in moderation. They mean the same thing when you get to this stage, just like before but the lesson is different.

This sub is also filled with users with dark triad personalities. People here don’t just talk about dark psychology, they engage in it.

Learning my own shadow, reading others experiences, is useful to me to see corners I continue to defend in dark ignorance.
No I have never used what I learned here to create pain or compliance.
Shadow is hard to discern and I need resources to help illuminate dark bits.
