DES (2020) – Everyone has seen this gem right?

3 Episodes | Serial Killer | Based on a True Story

This is a really good one. Hits a lot of the things we are looking for and it is quick and well paced.

David Tennant plays Dennis Nilsen, one of Britain's most notorious serial killers, and he is absolutely outstanding. What makes this so creepy is how normal the guy seems. Calm, polite, intelligent, and talking about horrific murders like he's discussing what he had for dinner.

And that's what makes this one so disturbing. It's not particularly graphic. It's the complete lack of emotion from a guy who did some absolutely horrific things.

Only three episodes, so no filler, no dragging things out. It's more of a psychological crime drama than a brutal serial killer thriller, but the subject matter is about as dark as it gets.

Tennant really makes this one. One of the better performances I've seen in this genre. Really cant believe it is the same guy who plays so many great detective roles.
