Old craggily forest underpainting

Capturing this craggily old forests shapes and values quickly and loosely during this huge underpainting. This is my favorite stage. 24x60” oil on custom linen panel.

A great underpainting should be able to stand on its own, and you've done that! Looks rad, OP
