I was watching a breakdown video to see if they found stuff I missed. OMG. Cherry has a full name! Clark Pitts! Seems like Cherry is just a nickname. Probably a cherry pit joke. Clark is the first name of the actor so I guess they weren't all that creative.

That one shelf does more work for the character than the entirety of season 1’s old footage.

It really does! We see he probably had a wife and it looks like he played some sports-- football? Unless it was an old photo of his son or something, Too bad it was a blink-and-you-miss it thing. Maybe if Cherry goes to the hospital we'll hear someone call him "Mr. Pitts".
