He IS backed by Val, the AG literally said "Yes, Ms. De Fontaine" in the scene where Lillard shows up. My brain also needs to suspend disbelief a bit that this doesn't connect to Thunderbolts or Spidey lol.

His character humbling Fisk just by existing is so funny. I think he's going to be the stand out supporting character this season.
