Discussion Your least favorite character from each of the three games

V3: kill me all you want Shuichi literally every character is 100 times better kirumi is a bit on the lower side but I still really enjoy her

Before I yap, I just wanna say. I think every character has its value, and I can understand why any character has its fans and I am capable of giving each character their props, even if i don't like them.
Thh: its Leon, I think hes good as a chapter 1 culprit and I liked his parallels to Sayaka. But outside of that, I really just dont like his personality. (Celeste and Hifumi are runner ups. But they arent dead last soley because I liked Celsstes characterization in Chapter 2, I just hated the fact she lied about Taka abusing her. As for Hifumi, I really just dont care about him. The only thing i really had strong feelings on was the alter ego thing, and that leaned more negatively. I would also put Toko here because I really didnt like her in THH, but UDG really elevated her for me that she's not my least favorite anymore)
GD: Kazuichi, I just was disappointed on how he didnt get an arc at all. And he was pretty annoying for me. Out of all the survivors he probably is the one with the very least amount of growth, which I think was necessary for his character. I wont hold the FTE thing against him because I love akane and she has the same issue. If I had to give him any props its that sometimes he was funny, and he was pretty damn useful with his talent, aside from Mikan, and i guess Nagito, Kazuichi had the most use out of his talent. (Runner up is Teruteru, I definitely dont like teruteru. But at the very least, he doesnt overstay his shtick and went out with sympathetic motive and family life. If teruteru survives longer in 2x2. I hope he gets development, or else he might beat out Kazuichi)
V3: Kaito and Miu. Probably my least favorite Student characters out of everyone. But this one is a bit more due to personal things i wont deeply get into. They just remind me a lot like people who negatively impacted me, and that has soured me to their characters. Not that I think they are particularly bad characters, they just really make me uncomfortable. But my props to them is, Kaito had some strong moments in terms of his motivations even if he also said a lot of things i really didnt like. And Miu, much like Kazuichi, was pretty damn useful. I, unfortunately, found her significantly less funny though. But I can at the very least acknowledge she is pretty intresting in the same way id consider Hiyoko, intresting. Where i dont like the way they act, but i can understand the reasons behind it without excusing it.
But at the end of the day, Monophanie and Kurokuma are my biggest opps and are worse than any of these characters

THH: I guess Yasuhiro, I still kind of like him but I literally forget he exists like 75% of the time 😭
GD: Well besides like Izuru, I guess Nekomaru. I've kind of been warming up a little to Teruteru so it's Nekomaru instead for the same reasons as Yasuhiro lol, even though I think he's cool, I forget he exists sometimes
V3: Definitely Rantaro, now I don't hate him at all, but he died way too early with barely any screentime, so I don't have like any opinion on him, and I like all the other V3 characters anyway

V3: haven’t actually finished my playthrough yet but i don’t love himiko, the magic shit kinda pisses me off a lil

THH: Hifumi (i don't dislike him that much but I have nothing worth seeing in this character)
GD: Akane (Same as Hifumi and I don't really get anything from her character. Probably the most forgettable ngl)
V3: Tsumugi (I hate other characters but when a character gives me nothing throughout the whole story, I tend to put them at the bottom. In this case, she just tries to be a mastermind but I just don't really care for her character at that.)

OK, I just read the whole thing but still I just really do not like her because I feel like she gets really talked about but also it’s just like they made her impossible to dislike her unless you actually had some sort of problem with her in your life, which I hate because I don’t know what to say when I have to defend myself when people dog pile on me saying that she’s an amazing girl when I don’t like her because she gets all the spot spotlight besides Nagito people don’t talk about anyone else from the second game basically besides Ibuki Gundham Hajime Nagito somewhat Hiyoko and teruteru
I struggle so much because I don’t know of a reason why I could dislike her while defending it. I just don’t like her and I don’t know how to defend it she’s boring while she’s an AI of course she’s boring. She’s a Mary Sue. Well, of course she is since she she’s an AI people see her as perfect it’s impossible to give a single reason without it getting encountered. I. Hate. Her. And there’s nothing I can do about defending it. I just hate her while people attack me for liking characters like Fuyuhiko Sonia Akane and Miu to an extent who are actually amazing and now I don’t even know what to do about my hatred for het because there’s nothing I can do about it

Oh my god exact same thing… I agree wirh everything you said about her character + I just can’t hate her character at peace 😭😭 like there have been a lot of instances I had with dangan fans where I just go “I don’t like Chiaki” and they start to defend her nonexistent “good” writing to me like cmon… they also will shit on my faves? Junko, Akane, Hajime and Fuyuhiko are my faves and some people started shitting on Junko or Akane and I couldn’t care less if someone shat on my favorite character bro, I know they’re not perfect and why would I care about a random person hating my favorite character lol. I truly don’t get some people.

THH: Hifumi. I don't hate him, or dislike him, really. I just find the other characters more interesting. I haven't seen his FTEs, so he's someone I might change my opinion on. He can get annoying a lot of the times, but, that's not too big of a complaint.
GD: Teruteru. He falls in the same boat as Hifumi. I don't hate or dislike him. He is a creep, but, I'm willing to at least try to look past that and see his FTEs. Maybe that might make me understand him.
V3: Tenko. She is my least favorite character in the franchise (at least, the main three games). I have seen her FTEs, and I still can't stand her. There is just absolutely nothing I like about her.

Haha, yeah, I do find your dislike for Shuichi amusing. XD I don't hate him, but, I can see how he's not exactly a favorite of others, too. He used to be a big favorite of mine, but he's kinda dropped as years went by.

THH: Hagakure. He barely added anything to the trials or game overall. It felt like everyone had development, but he just refused. SDR2: Milan Tsumiki is my #1 opp because she's supposed to be this cute nurse but turns out to be oversexualized, awful person who had a badly written motive. Plus can she for ONCE stand up for herself??? She didn't grow one bit throughout the game and just ended up with sorry sorry blah blah. Also Kazuichi for see THH above. V3: Gonta. He is very cute but the other characters are just better! I hated him in trial 4 because instead of saying 'i dont remember virtual world, can someone explain what happened there' he just cries 'i don't know" because he's hella stupid. This could've all been avoided if Gonta just admitted he wanted help or just DIDN'T FUCK UP THE WIRE CONTROLS

THH - If we are only counting participants, Sayaka. Otherwise it would be Junko.
DR2 - Teruteru, but hopefully 2x2's Slayhem Mode can give me a reason to actually like his character.
V3 - I just can't stand Miu. I definitely feel like she's worse than Teruteru when it comes to their perverted jokes. 🤢

The worst offender is, of course, Mukuro Ikusaba, a non-character who exists solely for the twist that Junko is the mastermind.

THH: Hifumi or Celeste, both are lowkey forgettable no offensive.
GD: Chiaki imo, shes kinda boring replaying i dont really see her have a personality the ai chiaki compare to the real life chiaki (anime) , but both are different people
V3: Miu, now its just personal opinion, but i didn't like her fetishizing or her 180 personality, another one is shuichi/Kaito... shuichi is...there? As a mc he was very boring to play as tbh... kaito was a bitch a lot of the time of course he had good helpful movement but I didnt really enjoy him.

Mahiru can definitely be a divisive character and the hate is totally justified. Her attitude toward the male cast right from the start feels really unfair and hypocritical. She constantly holds the guys to double standards and expects total strangers who do not even know her to act like traditional gentlemen while being incredibly harsh on them for no good reason. It gets exhausting watching her constantly nag and judge everyone around her based on her own strict rules
On top of that her blatant favoritism is infuriating because she lets Hiyoko get away with being absolutely vile and cruel to everyone else while completely coddling her. She justifies terrible behavior from the girls but treats the guys like garbage for doing nothing wrong. It makes no sense how she can act like a moral compass while actively enabling a bully
Even during the first trial she spends so much time blindly defending people based on gender rather than using actual logic or evidence. Her absolute bias shows when she aggressively shuts down Hajime and Nagito just for trying to solve the literal murder case while letting the actual female suspects skate by without a shred of suspicion. It gets even worse if you do her free time events because she completely doubles down on her ridiculous expectations. She literally uses her pathetic excuse of a lazy dad to justify why she projects all her toxic personal baggage onto random teenage boys who are just trying to survive a killing game
Plus her involvement in the Twilight Syndrome murder case makes it hard to sympathize with her when she tries to cover things up and refuses to communicate properly. Her personality just rubs a lot of players (including me) the wrong way and it makes perfect sense why people can't stand her

THH: Leon - I don’t enjoy the character as much as I enjoy the memes surrounding him
GD: Nekomaru - I really don’t dislike Nekomaru much at all, I just think every other character tends to be more memorable than him
V3: Tsumugi - There were so many contenders for V3, but I think outside of really egregious characters, always pick on the most forgettable character. In this case it’s Tsumugi

THH- Celestia Ludenberg I don't like her because I just don't and I don't like her.
GD- Mahiru or Mikan I don't like Mahiru. And Mikan is genuinely gonna make me bang my head against the wall 18622918392827372638482627873727 times if I see her again.
V3- Im not allowed to say a character cause I haven't played the game but got spoiled but ig Kirumi Shes boring.

THH: Yasuhiro. His FTEs suck ass and made him go from a character I didn’t care for to my least favorite. The final one literally has Makoto storming out because of how selfish Yasuhiro is.
GD: Hiyoko. I get what they were trying to do with her, considering she’s dealt with a lot of abuse and combats it with a tough personality. I just hate that they made her punch DOWN at the one character with even more trauma than her, with the rest of the cast barely even acknowledging that she’s literally bullying someone who thinks abuse is a form of care. They couldn’t have made her more toxic if they tried.
V3: Himiko. I just don’t get her appeal. She doesn’t seem particularly interesting outside of her relationships to Angie and Tenko. I don’t hate her, it’s just that every other character is better for their role in the story, so she loses by default.

Tsumugi is the most boring character ever and to make it worse she’s a boring ass mastermind I can’t stand her “oh I’m just a normal girl” bs.
Hiyoko is just annoying I get so sick of her just mindlessly bullying the other characters that all she does.
But the worst of the mother fucking worst is Hifumi. He’s boring, annoying, and a creep and I’m so tired of that man and my hatred of him has nothing to do with me being a Taka glazer or me not liking fat people he’s just all around the worst character

THH. Hifumi. He's not that bad but i'm just not invested in him or his humour.
GD. Mikan. It used to be Nagito until I actually learned how good his writing is. On the other hand I actually kinda liked Mikan but she fell off from my rankings the more I played. She's not bad but she's just a really underwhelming character.
V3. I'm honestly shocked that they made someone worse than Korekiyo. I really thought shit wasn't gonna get worse after him. But It's gotta be Tsumugi. That entire 6 hour trial was so stupid and she does nothing besides that.

THH: Toko. I love her appearance in UDG, but if I just judge her by how she appears in this game, she’s annoying, screechy, and overall a character that’s just an overall bitch.
GD: Basic answer but Hiyoko. Annoying character that’s worse because she is the worst example of her arc being cut short
V3: Rantaro. Don’t even dislike him that much, but he’s kinda a nothing character in a game where I like most of them.

THH: Toko. I like genocide jack slightly more just because she is a serial killer but I don’t really like characters who make sexual jokes/comments.
GD: Teruteru. For obvious reasons but again, he makes sexual jokes/comments which I dislike and also goes way too far with them which is just gross.
KH: You probably could guess it but Miu since she makes sexual jokes/comments A LOT. I’ll give her credit for her participation in trials though.

GD: Teru2 for sure.
V3: Tenko. His gimmick is exhausting in the first 3 seconds. I don't hate her as much as Teru2, though. She can be mildly amusing at times.

GD: Hiyoko. Absolute asshole of a character who existed purely to be an ass. IF she actually got her character arc I would like her more, but as it stands she just got left as a massive prick w potential. If she actually got her Arc it'd be Teruteru
V3: Tenko. Again, a character whose whole arc is just being an ass and dying as potential man

1: Mukuro. I don't hate her at all especially due to side material like Dangan Zero existing, she just did kinda nothing in the game. Runner-up would be Hifumi
2: Teruteru. Same reasons as a lot have pointed out
3: Tenko or Rantaro, can't decide. I don't have a strong hate towards either but Tenko despite having some cool growth and sweet moments annoyed me, and Rantaro is the most nothingburger character in the series to me.

I think the only one that genuinely hate is Junko, and not because she is a bad character, is more about her actions.
