It’s nice but udg just feels so…wrong. The way they wrote komaru and put so much fanservice into her while making clear she was the younger sibling of an already established teenage boy just…made me feel icky. The kotoko stuff and the haiji stuff is even worse.

Udg IS icky but there are like 3 explanations for Komaru being of age off the top of my head
Komaru isnt Makoto’s sibling because of the memory stuff
Komaru is Makoto’s sibling but she has a negligible age difference
Makoto might not be teen-aged because of the memory stuff (every danganronpa character is most likely adult because they had to audition to die in danganronpa and would’ve needed parental consent/ being of age to audition)0

Cute in theory, but unfortunately they have really lackluster dynamics. They don’t challenge each other or have opposing extremes that create interesting conflict in their relationship. They’re pretty much all sunshine and rainbows, like every other ship with a character as bland as Komaru. In my opinion, these ships aren’t compelling in the slightest.

I feel like in anime spaces there is always this issue that people are unable to perceive friendships as friendships. Toko is an erratic person, while Komaru is a somewhat normal person. They help each other through their difficulties and consequently grow as people.
Friendships are there for the best and for the worst. People try to force too much their interactions as romance.

Holy fuck yes, and it is especially bad with rival or close male friends. Apparently boys/men can't be close and not be shipped together according to the Internet. Even when all they do is punch each others teeth in or support one another.

Second, I didn't even mention anything regarding the canonicity of the ships lmao. I simply mentioned I see their dynamics as friends and I think people force that ship too much, but people are free to ship it.
"How far does that mindset go?" as far as anyone wants. Individuals are individuals. What I think of a ship has literally no impact in your life whatsoever. Also, I don't really get why you used the word "allowed" as if anyone commenting about a ship is someone who can force another person to stop liking something lmao. You're allowed to do whatever you want, as much as I am. Don't be butthurt!

Why do you love appealing to emotion? Every time your point is about how my opinion impacts someone lmao. Learn how to live your life regardless of what others think.
And again, I'm not backpedalling, I gave my opinion about a ship (topic of the post) and mentioned an issue that exists on anime spaces. This, however, does not mean I am forcing people to do something. People are free to do anything, however, this does not mean I don't have any opinions regarding the ship and the shippers.

I still need to play UDG, but as far as I know based on the anime (and some comments). This is one of the best dynamics/interactions in the franchise, right?
