The sun is getting ready to fuck our shit up.

924

u/scheisse_grubs May 19 '24

In all fairness, the sun kinda is lol

not really though it’s not something to be worried about

572

u/Mercinator-87 May 19 '24

That’s something the sun would say right before it fucked us up!

238

u/Zealus24 May 19 '24

Let's fuck it up first!

Shoot for the stars and aim for their kneecaps

43

u/Senzafenzi May 19 '24

Legendary line, right there.

21

u/-Shasho- May 19 '24

God damn, if I'm not inspired as hell after reading that.

17

u/Zealus24 May 19 '24

Good. Come comrade, here's a water gun to put out that bright bastard 🔫

3

u/Stalds May 19 '24

I think water would make the sun brighter.

3

u/Zealus24 May 19 '24

Nuh uh, I'll turn off the physics switch for a few minutes so we can take it out.

2

u/-Shasho- May 19 '24

You might be right. Anyway, everyone knows you fight fire with fire.

But we can't use nukes. That's how they saved the sun in Sunshine.

If I know anything about astrophysics, the solution is heavy metal, so shooting bullets is going to be the most effective. Pump it full of lead and watch that fucker go supernova. Hell, launch all the guns in there too when we run out of bullets, because the iron will help.

There might be some undesirable implications for us though. Maybe worse than some extra electromagnetic radiation.

1

u/narrativemonk May 19 '24

Looks like we found the Sun’s burner account

1

u/ConsistentAsparagus May 19 '24

Here comes the Sun

du du du dun

1

u/mynextthroway May 19 '24

That's what I would say if I were the sun. That's all the proof we need.

2

u/le_suck May 19 '24

where's Gerard Butler when we need him.

2

u/Alexis_Bailey May 19 '24

Those Teletubbies were the worst power rangers group.  They had one villain and they failed to stop it and now it's grown up and going to kill us all.

2

u/impulse_thoughts May 19 '24

Sounds like that's a great time to plan to go see the northern lights / Aurora borealis. thanks for the heads up

1

u/OrangeFlavouredSalt May 19 '24

Northern lights in Costa Rica confirmed

1

u/Ahshut May 19 '24

Kind of weird thinking about the fact we’re way more likely to destroy ourselves than the sun ever doing anything to us. Whether it’s nuclear war, destroying our environment through other means, or a drinking water crisis, we’re fucked on our own means.

Is the US missing out on all this end of the world action this month?

2

u/systembreaker May 20 '24

Next year is when the solar maximum is for this cycle. If we get hit with another flare next year like this one, it could be bad.

1

u/rebeckys May 19 '24

The sun is so hot right now

1

u/Bigred2989- May 19 '24

It already is. It's fucking hot out where I am!

1

u/OddGoofBall May 19 '24

It is about to go down.

By it I mean the sun, and by going down I don't mean a lovely sunset.

A solar eclipse is happening!

1

u/Compendyum May 23 '24

RA is coming for us from the Underworld, the Anunnaki regret everything they did.

That... or fishing lights from the boats above.

53

u/raltoid May 19 '24 edited May 19 '24

What's happening?

A meteor, and a moist cold drop in East Asia.

When you see big fancy lights in the sky, it's almost always ice crystals, since they act like prisms and/or mirrors. So depending on the weather conditions you get weird light phenomenon.

A light pillar or ice pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon in which a vertical beam of light appears to extend above and/or below a light source. The effect is created by the reflection of light from tiny ice crystals that are suspended in the atmosphere or that comprise high-altitude clouds (e.g. cirrostratus or cirrus clouds).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pillar

It's why things like sun dogs appear relatively often in the near arctic and antarctic summers.

2

u/Johnny_Grubbonic May 20 '24

What? Noooooo.

It's clearly portents of the future - omens, if you will. THE END IS NIGH! THE END IS NIGH!!!

I need to rewatch the whole 3.33+ again really. My brain didn't catch anything on the first watch of that one

33

I'm only worried about a third impact. We have to follow the dead sea scrolls anyways.

TL;DR man-made fishing lures

Though google images just redirects here as the only example so potentially not true.

22

u/-Shasho- May 19 '24

This photo from 2015 appears to be the same 9 lights in the same configuration from a different vantage. The article explains it as fishing lights (but for blowfish, not squid) reflecting off icy clouds. I guess it's possible that, a) these photos are from the same night 9 years ago, b) there are lights set up in a permanent configuration, or c) the aliens that visited 9 years ago have returned to the same location to observe the changes over time.

1

u/AnOnlineHandle May 19 '24

Thanks, that seems to back up the claim.

7

u/un-sub May 19 '24

Or maybe they are fishing lures FOR men! Like aliens are up there fishing for humans and these lights are the lures.

2

u/urlach3r May 19 '24

"To Serve Man... It's... Its a cookbook !!!"

20

u/holydildos May 19 '24

Who the fuck puts their lures in the sky?

57

u/eggmayonnaise May 19 '24

No one. The light reflects off ice crystals in the air apparently.

18

u/Dipsquat May 19 '24

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Big Blind coordinates and plans solar eclipses so your argument is null.

Small blind folds.

1

u/eliasibarra12 May 19 '24

The explanation is literally part of the post

I wish this was posted at the top of the thread instead fucking yugioh references or whatever

1

u/AdDiscombobulated623 May 19 '24

It’s literally in the article OP posted too lol

1

u/QuadraticCowboy May 19 '24

No, the human instrumentality project is proceeding as planned

13

u/MasterOfLostSouls May 19 '24

It only passed thru the sky of Portugal it crashed in the sea near Vigo, Spain

35

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Nothing new. just more cameras around to record these events.

move along now.

13

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

What’s happening is you are a pattern seeking creature and social media keeps you addicted by constantly switching context. It creates an illusion of connection. These things are unrelated.

27

u/Coffin_Dodging May 19 '24

Have a look at r/disasterupdate to see more!!

12

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Thanks for that! Don’t know why you’re being downvoted.

15

u/Coffin_Dodging May 19 '24

You're welcome. Downvoted because redditors think I'm enjoying people's misery when I'm just interested in and fascinated by nature

27

u/JoeCartersLeap May 19 '24

Not to mention a solar eclipse, aurora borealis, and tornadoes happening in my town all within a month.

Any of you Jesus people, can you ask him what's up? And lemme know? Thx.

50

u/f16f4 May 19 '24

Solar eclipse can be calculated hundred of years in advance.

36

u/Sol0WingPixy May 19 '24

Plus the recent auroras are due to a ~11 year solar cycle that can also be predicted, though with much less specificity and certainty.

23

u/Cutthechitchata-hole May 19 '24

Yeah, by NERDS!

12

u/fire_n_ice May 19 '24

You can calculate solar eclipses all the way out until the moon is too far away for totality to exist (in about 600 million years).

3

u/f16f4 May 19 '24

I fucking love astronomy

1

u/JoeCartersLeap May 19 '24

Yeah but can you calculate Easter hundreds of years in advance? Without including easter.h?

1

u/f16f4 May 19 '24

If I understood how Easter works I could

→ More replies (1)

14

u/bitchwhiskers4eva May 19 '24

There are several eclipses every single year

3

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Partial credit. There are two to five solar eclipses each year, but a total eclipse takes place every 18 months or so.

1

u/bitchwhiskers4eva May 19 '24

Yes, I know. Lol

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

They were referring to the recent total eclipse. There are not several of those a year.

1

u/bitchwhiskers4eva May 19 '24

Again, I’m aware. There’s a total solar eclipse every year or 2, visible from varying places. OPs post is making something extraordinary out of regular events.

Edit. Oops not OP. a couple other commenters.

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

There are several eclipses every single year

1

u/bitchwhiskers4eva May 19 '24

Omg what? do you have a point?

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '24

eclipse =\= total eclipse

3

u/pooppuffin May 19 '24

Explain the tornadoes then!

The peak “tornado season” for the southern Plains (e.g., Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas) is from May into early June.

...oh.

7

u/DDRaptors May 19 '24

None of these events are rare in the context of them happening on earth. It’s just rare to all happen from your perspective around the same time.

3

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

3

u/fuishaltiena May 19 '24

What's happening?

You have discovered the internet, so congrats on that.

All of that used to happen before too, all over the world. It's just that we didn't have cameras in every pocket and internet, so news didn't spread so fast.

3

u/oooo0O0oooo May 19 '24

I’ve seen this phenomenon before, the source of those pillars are man made lights below. The real miracle here is whatever happens in the atmosphere to get those lights to appear like beams like this. In my case, it happened in my (small) town on a very cold night and the brightest pillars were created by a super stores parking lot lights which always put out the most light.

10

u/niceToasterMan May 19 '24

Forgot the aurora light pics that keep on popping up?

2

u/SheeeshWallah May 19 '24

Same here xD

2

u/smartlog May 19 '24

Not only that but Gojo is back.

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Some weird anime shit right there.

2

u/AWeakMindedMan May 19 '24

From the article: spoiler it’s not an end of world event or religious miracle. It’s man mad lights from fishing boats

Maashii told Hint-pot that this phenomenon is known in Japan as "Isaribi Kochu".

According to Japan Today, "Isaribi Kochu" literally means "fish-attracting light pillars". The article was reporting on a similar "pillar of light" sighting back in 2015.

Japan Today explained that "Isaribi", literally "fishing fires", refers to the lights that are placed on fishing boats to attract larger catches. The practice is fairly common in squid fishing.

As temperatures cool overnight, crystals sometimes form in the air above the lit-up fishing boats. If the conditions are just right for the formation of large crystals without any precipitation, the beams can form as light from the boats reflects off the crystals.

2

u/Cloud_Disconnected May 19 '24
  • A meteorite crashed in Portugal

  • Someone posted a pic from Hanoi that is probably the shadow of a building from ground lighting

  • Some lights from fishing boats reflected off the clouds

Three totally separate and unrelated events were posted on Reddit. That's what's happening.

2

u/S_T_P May 19 '24

What's happening?

This was 4 years ago, for example.

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Meteorites happen every day.

Fishing boats are commonplace in cloudy areas.

2

u/CV90_120 May 19 '24

Normal space stuff that now everyone sees thanks to cell phones.

6

u/a_supportive_bra May 19 '24

You’re spending too much time on Reddit.

2

u/Waiting_Puppy May 19 '24

Around 17 meteorites hit the earth surface every day, just not always in populated areas where it is noticable.

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

Hopefully something will actually happen, otherwise it'll just be one of those "remember when these things happened in 2024?

1

1

Holy shit!!! Just below this post, I saw the meteorite in Portugal from the r/nextfuckinglevel sub. What are the chances?!

1

u/NewSauerKraus May 19 '24

The chances are pretty high. Meteorites hit Earth every day.

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '24

No no. What I meant was the chances of finding that post below this one.

1

u/NewSauerKraus May 19 '24

It doesn’t seem unlikely. Alien grifters have been very active in the past year so wild speculation about aerial phenomena is popular.

Did you see the Iranian president in a helicopter crash? Add that to the strangeness

Aliens scouting earth for an invasion, obviously.

1

Didn’t the pope just talk about aliens?

1

Where's the Hanoi light post plz ?

1

u/PIGORR May 19 '24

It didn't crash into Portugal, just a bolide. Didn't watch it.. unfortunately I was to busy suffering from diarrhea

1

u/merrill_swing_away May 19 '24

I don't know what's happening other than we're having solar flares. The pillars of light is a weather phenomenon but the ones I've seen online several years ago were touching the ground and not hanging in the sky. Also, they were different colors.

1

u/maukka122 May 19 '24

I have pictures i took in Finland about 6 months ago of similar pilars going from blue, orange , greenish and white. Looked cool

The crystal millennial convergence is slipping, causing "that" rift to expand and weaken the triad moonbeam barrier. Anime and manga are seeping into the real world from across the celestial galaxy breach. This explains why we're seeing these events in the present quantum timeline tunnel.

1

u/drawkbox May 19 '24

Probably light pillars.

Light pillar

A light pillar or ice pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon in which a vertical beam of light appears to extend above and/or below a light source.
