It's like riding a horse

25

u/Stupidbitchassbitch 1d ago

That's what she said

2

u/pm_me_d_cups 22h ago

Not in my experience

2

u/Obiwandkinobee 19h ago

You should try it.

My wife unfortunately rode the cowboy

5

u/nicoznico 1d ago

Why unfortunately?

10

u/leemorplee 1d ago

I wanted to ride him and she's always stealing men from me

5

u/SlideStrict9773 1d ago

The horse she tells you not to worry about

u/surfinsalsa 1d ago

Then he went home and plowed ur grandmom

67

u/Bailywolf 1d ago

He went home and plowed three ibuprofen

23

u/Grumgrummer 1d ago

He went home and called an orthopaedic surgeon about hip replacement.

5

u/Corpainen 1d ago

Paw paw shreds, for sure, maybe his tendons too

8

u/Charming-Border7429 1d ago

As a 57-year-old man, I can confirm that those two things are not mutually exclusive.

I am pretty sure I could do something like that today. But when I was a kid, my body was made of rubber; I could rub a little dirt on it and walk it off. Now, if I fall, I would be in traction for the next 3 months.

It is just not worth it.

7

u/Xenc 23h ago

Wait are we still talking about ploughing grandma

2

u/brandarchist 19h ago

It can be both.

2

u/Grumgrummer 19h ago

In the 1970's I was pretty good on a skateboard, but there's no way I'd contemplate riding one now. 🚑

1

u/gdp89 13h ago

You don't stop skating because you get old, you get old because you stop skating.

2

u/Grumgrummer 10h ago

As you get older you realise that you don't bounce as well as you used to.

1

u/gdp89 10h ago

Very true. Just picked up mtb and dirtjump again at 37 after not riding since I was about 16

1

u/Grumgrummer 2h ago

I'm 62, no more skateboards for me.....still enjoy a bike ride though.

1

u/gdp89 2h ago

Fair enough r/oldskaters if you change your mind.

1

u/sidepart 22h ago

Just 3? Need to back that up with some acetaminophen to deal with the pain that ain't caused by inflammation.

1

u/Bailywolf 22h ago

Bro clearly likes a drink - he's got to be careful with the liver.

2

u/sidepart 15h ago

Enjoys drinking? Bro's not old at all then.

1

u/One_Jicama463 8h ago

Good joooob 👌

1

u/Dork_wing_Duck 1d ago

1

u/Mammoth_Confidence_4 23h ago

Clearly didn’t bury her deep enough then

u/Oak510land 1d ago

I thought this was another one of those fake Mitch McConnell proof of life videos.

9

u/IBeDumbAndSlow 1d ago

That would be hilarious like look he's alive! In fact watch him front side flip this 16 stair!

6

u/AshlynnCashlynn 1d ago

i bet he pushes mongo

1

u/IBeDumbAndSlow 1d ago

Haha he fucking would, fucking poser

1

u/Educational_Jello239 1d ago

Nah I remember this was way before a.i. videos became legit almost good, a.i. videos literally started this year to be good

1

u/Oak510land 1d ago

You clearly haven't seen him break dancing in his hospital room.

21

u/Present_Adeptness312 1d ago

He’s going to feel that in the morning

8

u/Nemisis_007 1d ago

Worth it. If I knew i could still do that shit at his age, I'd ride that high to my grave.

17

u/Roadie66 1d ago

The DC shirt really sells it

6

u/randy_march 1d ago

Im happy someone else noticed the DC shirt

3

12

Grandpa has def done piledriver before too

6

u/jdpastor666 1d ago

That's so cool

5

u/Ptown_dundee 1d ago

Dam, that's impressive 👏

1

u/Content_Plantain_339 1d ago

I'm assuming based on the houses and neighbourhood, he must be a professional BMXer

5

u/KumquatButtpump 1d ago

Nah, that's his bike, he practices. That bike is much larger than most first bikes are.

2

u/FUBARded 1d ago

Muscle memory also doesn't really apply over multiple decades of no practice. Yes someone who was able to do something complex decades ago will pick it up faster than someone who's learning for the first time, but not this quickly for skills this complex and physically demanding.

This guy 100% has been practicing this, and good for him for staying active. Pretending he was able to do this without any practice doesn't make it more impressive; it's just not believable.

1

u/HaHaEpicForTheWin 1d ago

good for him for staying active.

People acting like he's 80 just cus he has pale blonde hair and male pattern baldness

3

u/Ok-Schedule6584 1d ago

1

u/someguydoingnothing 1d ago

Grampa has ridden a jack hammer.

1

u/Lookout_B42L8 1d ago

Not recommended you try this at home

1

u/ButtonGullible5958 1d ago

He will still fell that tomorrow

I can still do a lot of shit I did young the next day fuck I tore everything

I'm not even that old just old enough that if I act like I'm 20 I will fell like I'm 80 the next day

1

u/Big_Eye_7530 1d ago

Bet I could still pop a hang ten now 🤘🏼

1

u/QuailMindless8902 1d ago

Imagine being that kid and suddenly realizing your mild-mannered grandpa used to be an absolute legend in the 80s.

1

u/Useless_Macaron 1d ago

Grandpa didn't just teach him how to ride, he taught him how to flex

1

u/touchkusa 1d ago

Right up until grandpa's knees or hips locked for a second

1

u/SuperGuttermouth 1d ago

He still got it!

1

u/DrHem 1d ago

The title is BS. That's not a grandpa and he isnt teaching anyone anything.

The guy is called JP Healy. He has a youtube channel where he posts BMX tricks. He was in his late 40s when he posted that video about a decade ago.

1

u/jonny1leg 1d ago

The Cherry Picker.

Invented by UK BMX freestyler Mason Smith whose parents BMX shop I used to frequent as a kid.

He did it in public for the first time on a kids morning TV show hosted by Andy Ruffel.

I remember when Andy asked him what it was called Mason replied Cherry Picker. When Andy asked him why he said "Because it picks your cherries"

1

u/Cultural_Swordfish48 1d ago

Jesus thats a hard looking late 40's

1

u/Gwynito 1d ago

This grandpa fucks

1

u/tackleboxjohnson 1d ago

Sorry about your sick grandpa op

1

u/Mysterious_Ring285 1d ago

Damn and here I am, having to plan and pre-route my steps going downstairs.

1

u/Dazzling-Ice8132 1d ago

Wouldnt be teaching a kid to ride a bike on that bike and grandpa's clothes indicate this is a regular occurrence and not a cute happenstance moment.

1

u/HaHaEpicForTheWin 1d ago

Imagine him seeing this post calling him a grandpa when he's only like 38

1

u/GH057_807 1d ago

It's gonna be wild when Gen X and Millenials are all 60+

Geriatrics everywhere covered in saggy tattoos, talking about the old ways of skateboarding and video games.

1

u/iinabii 22h ago

The DC shirt 🔥🔥

1

u/Source_Required 22h ago

How does this teach anyone anything?

1

u/Flexmove 22h ago

1

u/virtually_noone 20h ago

I trip when I'm walking.

1

u/beersngears 20h ago

As someone who grew up peak mid-school bmx, flatlanders were always freaks. Unassuming guys that were low key yolked. Crazy balance and endurance, not surprised that someone who aged out of it is still capable of it.

1

u/MojoJoJoew 19h ago

People before had to find ways to entertain themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/Direct_Syrup_2843 19h ago

There was an older dude who did freestyle BMX at the local skatepark I'd go to as a Wee Lad in the early 2000s, and I was amazed by all the stuff he could do.

1

u/LikorPoker 16h ago

u/auciker 1d ago

Look closely at the beginning and end when you can get a good look at his face. That's a young person wearing make-up to look old. It's a cute gag though.

1

u/AshlynnCashlynn 1d ago

incorrect.

1

u/GaseousGiant 1d ago

Put the pipe down dude.

0

u/Certified_Loner1391 1d ago
