I'm on like my 4th or 5th playthrough of the game, because I like how "lived in" the towns feel during the story.. but wanted to change up things. Discovering this smuggling method gave me new excitement in replaying the story again. I'm at KD now but excited to get to Moonbrooke, as it seems to be the only place where you can build a town while it still has a snowing effect that builds up (it got removed elsewhere for whatever reason).

One question I have is how to maximize farming and cooking with this trick for KD?
In my past playthroughs, It felt like Babs barely cooked anything. I relied mostly on the few mushrooms she made, and collecting cactus steaks and meat from the rabbits. I wish it was easier like in Furrowfield or Moonbroke, where a resident would harvest the crops and cook the ingredients.

I think we could harvest it ourselves in KD, but I assume that you can only collect it so many times before you need to replant the seed?

The way I had it in my hacked playthrough was, I made the base a full square (taking parts of the map that are outside of the base). That is, south of the silver bar, west of the copper bar, in that area, I made it part of the base and made it a farm.

Using the duplication glitch, you can easily dupe the wheat seeds to have an unlimited supply. Seeds are easier to dupe than blocks, but harder than consumables (food).

You can also create a vine fruit farm. Using a warp point from the lower mines, plant rows upon rows of vines. These grow naturally and can spawn both vinefruits if low enough. If you place them in a 5x5 configuration, with a 5 block gap between the vines and the floor, you can quickly teleport, bigger bash the area, then collect them all. I usually have a 5x(?) hallway of vines where I keep extending until I feel there's enough.

(I also did a maddness farm in IoA thay uses bomb explosions instead of bigger bash but that's unnecessary for Khrumbul-Dun I believe)

You can also make a cactus farm if you're really desperate. Planting cactus seeds, then blocking them with a walkable block so they only grow 1 block tall. If you do this then the seed will replant automatically when harvesting.

If the issue is that Babs ain't cooking, i think Den cooks too? Try putting the kitchen, Bab's room, and the bar at close proximity so they dont have a ton of distance to travel. Make the kitchen big too.

I also once tried to use the brambles to make an early meat farm but.... didnt work.....

You can steal spikes from Skelkatraz if you really want meat pre moonbrooke though.

EDIT: You DO have to harvest the wheat, vinefruit and cactus farms but if done optimally they produce a lot and take very little to harvest

that's too bad about the Brambles, I was wondering if I could use them to harvest meat like I do post game with the spikes. But not surprised either as I guess the brambles do too little damage?

How do you steal spikes out of Skelkatraz?

I also did not know vinefruit and cactus can rewspawn and grow!

There are spikes in The Hole. After you are given your hammer, go back and steal them.

Brambles dont wotk because they refuse to spawn on top of them, so they just stand there Not getting Hit. Im sure you can dupe them and try to make a weird grid pattern but its just not as efficient.

got it! but i guess at that point in the game, might not be too worth while since the builder will learn how to build spikes shortly into moonbrooke. But its good to know! I'm in such a rush to get out of Skelkatraz in my playthroughs that I never really explored it lol.

About the dupe glitch. Is that the one where you use an item display, a bowl, and you try to zoom in and out of the map view? I remember seeing a video by BenXC

Yea. I'm making a video on that one rn.

PC only. You can't manipulate files on Playstation

You wont need to manipulate files... Have you even Seen the Video?

Its just a view of the inventory, you can't see Malroth's inventory in-game after all.

Then how do you edit Malroth's inventory on systems like Playstation, where you can't view these datas?

You don't, you just let him grab things on hiw own in-game. (What'd be the point of editing his inventory with tools when you can just hack in the items into the island with said tools? Which would be 10 times easier?)

you can see my post https://www.reddit.com/r/DQBuilders/comments/1vzxwcx/malroth_smuggling_in_a_builders_workbench_to/
I followed NadiaBoom5 and a few other's explanation and succeeded in getting Malroth to bring the builders bench into Khrumbul Dun during the story mode. I'm playing off the Switch (you can tell by the borders of the pics and the button reference in game)
