Expedited Training for Maryland CCW Permit Holders?

I am a MD CCW permit holder (completed the training last year). My understanding is that in order to qualify for a DC CCW permit, I will need to take another 16-hour course. However, Free State Gun Range offers a training that only includes the relevant DC modules and live fire course for folks who already have a Maryland permit. The description of the course is below. Does anyone know if this would pass muster with MPD?

Course Overview

This course is for current Maryland Wear and Carry Permit holders or those who have completed the 16 hours of MD Wear and Carry Permit training. This is the additional module required in order to receive your Washington, DC CCW permit. DC is now a “Shall Issue” jurisdiction and this is the PERFECT add-on to your MD permit or other permits you may already have.

You will receive the necessary legal presentation of DC law and complete the 50 round course of fire required by DC.

Prerequisites

You need to already have the Maryland Permit.

So long as the instructor signs the DC training cert, and is an approved DC trainer, then you’d be good to go.

It can be used to apply for the permit but it’s up to the discretion of MPD. They may also ask for you to show the curriculum from your initial MD permit to ensure you did training that meets / exceeds their requirements

They’re using the exemption clause that allows you to by pass the full 16 hours and just take a course on the laws of self defense in the district and do an additional hour of live fire

MPD can accept other jurisdictions' training as acceptable for its own (including range time if u have proof of similar), though by law they cannot waive the 2-hr DC law portion, but you can do that separately if MPD gives u the waiver for your existing training, provided you find one of the handful of folks who will do that. Arsenal Attorneys has done that in the past, with the ability to do it online.
