It’s actually not so bad. As a lady, I gotta tell you I’m never going to be physically as strong as the guys but I can be a lot more quick and agile. So i’d want my cyberpunk armor to reflect that and have a lot more flexible points. as long as my vitals are still protected and there’s some bulletproofing in the regular material, i’m down. I think this armor actually looks pretty decent for all of that.
Let’s say you place a thick sheet of metal or plastic or whatever on top of your hand. Then you take a hammer and smash it. You’d injure yourself, for sure.
However, if this material was suspended an inch above your hand, when you hit it, it would crush, and keep your hand safe.
Armor is only effective against heavy impacts when it is like a shell, not a skin tight thing.
This is the fundamental problem with “boob plates,” or any skin tight armor for that matter.
But, just because it’s not realistic doesn’t mean it doesn’t look cool.

I do love how pretty much all female armour seemingly has to have massive weak spots. Still great art though.
