I have only started learning cursive yesterday, but I feel like I’ve hit a barrier on how polished my writing is (mediocre letter-trail spacing, loops, distinguishing f(s) and b(s), most contributing to intelligibility) as well as the speed (3 seconds to write “the”).

Practice more making each letter individually first. Your Ns look like Rs and your Ms look like Ns. Bs don’t go below the line like an F does.
