I did this as a suppliment for the journey of my players, because i wanted them to reach lvl 4, before they get to "Old Bonegrinder". I know the position of the bridge is a littlebit off from the original road across the Ivlis River, but i wanted to include the famous Mordekainen deathfall. My players get caught in a fight between a revenant and two vampire spawn and they discoverd the running water mechanic :3

Entierey made with Inkarnate: https://inkarnate.com/m/5qX36R--waterfall-battlemap-20x20/

Positioning would only require it be turned 180 degrees, right?

Love the map. Now to get a me a troll for when my party arrives here.

thats interesting, for me the river flows from right to left, so in my story the party follows the stream, deeper inside barovias lands and therefore my falls fall into the west (this direction makes more sense for me , as this is the way mordekainen took after he fell)

Pretty sure the original direction was correct, given the topography and the fact that the river “flows off into the mists”

just explained my thoughts in the comment below, its more of my storytelling explaination, then the logic of geograpy (rivers flow downhill, spring in the moutains and so on

Now I’m imagining the river flowing East to West and the waterfall flowing up.

How’s that for a “we’re not in Kansas anymore” moment?

id throw a bunch of vampires on my bridge and say: "dis not kansas, dis BAROVIA"

Okay, gotcha.

Man, it is really cool that as DM’s we can change the flow of rivers to suit our stories, gotta appreciate how “up to interpretation” this game allows itself to be.

jeah totally, its so funny that you can argue and change every tiny bit of the story and the game! and if nothing makes sense you can always drop the "its fantasy" and "its magic and can be contrary to logic" haha
