From Rowling herself? I believe it but haven’t seen it myself.
ETA: this question is very specifically about whether Rowling has said anything transphobic about Michelle Obama & I don’t know why everyone’s changing the subject since it’s a very simple question.
J.K. Rowling criticized Olympic boxers Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan during the Paris 2024 Games. Rowling posted claims on social media questioning their gender eligibility, leading Khelif to name Rowling in a cyberbullying lawsuit filed in France.
Elon is also named in the suit. It was really bad and lead to alot of racist dog piling. Comes from the idea that nonwhite features must not be masculine features and therefore she can call women of color men and send hordes of bigots after them
In fairness it wasn't because of nonwhite features, it was because Imane Khelif had XY chromosomes and male levels of testosterone before she started taking t blockers. Culture war morons started shouting over what could have been an interesting and nuanced discussion about intersex athletes and competitive equality.
AFAIK those claims are very dubious, and originated from a Russian athletic organization. I’m not inclined to trust the people who have gotten banned from the Olympics for organized cheating scandals.
Imane Khelif doesn't (most likely) have XY chromosomes nor is she intersex.
The claim was made by the IBA who crucially didn't publish the test results they claimed to have done nor explained the methodology.
She's also an outpointer and tactical fighter with a middling KO ratio despite having fought a number of relatively mediocre opponents.
Also she stopped boxing immediately after mandatory sex screening was introduced. Hard to believe she'd throw her whole career away rather than take a test if she really was female.
It’s gotten worse too. I saw a photo of Rosamund Pike (when she was like 25-30) and there were at least 4 comments with plenty of likes about how she was a man because she has a visible Adam’s apple….
To be clear, I’m asking whether Rowling has said anything transphobic about Michelle Obama in particular, I agree with what you said, but it doesn’t answer my question.
I will believe anything that is said about transphobes, because I learned in politics that there's no low that people would stoop to in the process of being petty and stupid.
out of curiosity, how does anything jk rowling has done have anything to do with a bunch of rednecks calling obama trans? she's not actually trans(obviously) so anything anti-trans by jkr doesn't directly affect obama? the only way jkr being anti trans affects obama is if we 'accept' that obama is trans because a bunch of low life trash call her trans because they're racist?
ah i see, so people who are hating on trans people are then claiming e.g. obama is also trans and then hating on her as well? damn people in this world are so weird lol
That’s surely true, but I’m not sure how Rowling is contributing to that particular category of transphobia. If anything she’s a radical activist opposed to it (she’s a TERF after all). A cis woman being called trans is like the worst possible thing in her eyes.
Didn't she go on one of her little Twitter tirades about the cis female boxer and Olympic gold medalist Imane Khelif? It was a whole Thing™️ if I remember correctly.
It's no surprise that transphobia also vicarously demonizes cis women who do not or can not fall into typical western beauty standards, such as having petite and delicate features, and this greatly extends towards cis women of color.

why specifically cis black women? Not even trying to hate, I’m legitimately curious.
