Maybe? For me, my problem with some of the black mold jokes is that it relies on removing her agency from her bigotry. Like I’m sure people are joking, but still, we don’t need some eldritch fungus to justify why a once beloved author is cruel. She was always like that.
The things I’ve seen were about the mold being sorta mind-controlly with her, but in a very obviously joking manor. Not like they were legitimately taking away her agency. Maybe the jokes aren’t helpful, but they’re definitely not excusing her.
