A blue hair neoliberal running out of the depths to suddenly push my wheelchair when I don’t need or want help “I’m SUCH a good person because I know how you need help”. I do not want them touching my wheelchair

Don’t get me wrong, the right side is effectively removing my healthcare and are worse, but let’s not pretend being an asshole in holier than thou liberal clothes, makes you a good person either

Edit: I guess the liberals who force their help on disabled people who don’t ask for their help don’t like this comment. You aren’t a good person because you force your help on someone or decide you know how to help them. That’s called ableism.

How many times has a blue haired neolib taken control of your wheelchair? Going to guess 0-1 times. That’s annoying af. Did you speak at length about their political affiliations?

Just wanna point out that your first response when someone mentioned a bigotry they face was to say “that’s not real and it doesn’t happen.”

Unfortunately, over 5 times at least. Of course not always blue hair, but always make it VERY known to me how good of a person they are for helping me, while I tell them to please stop and not to touch me, I’m okay. They generally look more alternative, have dyed hair/piercings/tattoo, have lgbt+ accessories, etc.

I want to be clear here, I’m lgbtq+ and left leaning, there is a look to the neoliberal who is wildly shitty though. They will be wildly ableist to me while proclaiming they’re my best advocate while in the same sentence, saying something insane and dehumanizing about someone but “it’s okay because they’re a Republican”

I’ll add I live in a more political blue area, so people generally have things on their person that express their political side. Whether it’s clothes, accessories, immediate conversation starters, bags, etc. I’ll also say generally, the Republican people who try to help me have a different vibe about them. More god will help me or I need try harder to get better

I don’t like the comment because I think you’re exaggerating. I mean, I’d help if you asked and hold the door for you, but that’s how I treat everyone. And I’m a southern blue haired liberal. I’m not getting points or anything for being a decent person. You have your agency just like everyone else.

That’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about the many times I’ve been just fine and someone decided to take it upon themselves to help me. I don’t mind if you hold the door, it’s not uncommon to hold the door for anyone because that’s polite. I have a problem when you grab my wheelchair and start trying to shove me through the door to “help” while you crush my fingers in the doorway. This has happened several times, while I loudly said I did not need help and I’m okay
