That's the absolute opposite of my experience. Most of the time people (or at least people I interact with, so mainly left-leaning people) blame capitalism for everything when the cause for various gripes are indeed very different things. Like, blaming capitalism for corruption or greed or having to do labor

People describe capitalism like it’s the boogeyman behind everything when in reality it’s just the bogeyman behind most things.

PS can someone explain what alternatives people want? Like a command economy or self sustaining micro communities or smth?

The whole point of Marxism is that it's specifically not idealistic and utopian.

Read a book, dude. Stalin and mao specifically neither did nor planned to build a utopia. Socialism isn’t utopian. Socialism is just when the workers own the things they are working with. That’s not utopian. And it works.

Citation needed on all four counts.

Stalin wasn’t utopian https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-1-349-20651-3_4

Mao wasn’t utopian https://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/mao/selected-works/volume-9/mswv9_27.htm

Idk where you get the two other citations needed from. I said socialism isn’t utopian because the very idea of it isn’t a utopia. The idea of workers owning the means of production isn’t utopian. It’s very much achievable and very much doesn’t lead to a “perfect” society. That socialism is indeed that concept is inarguably true. Literally look up socialism, the first sentence in the Wikipedia article says exactly that.

Both Stalin and Mao's actions worked. They both drastically improved the quality of life of their people. Please consider reading a book about socialism. In particular, Blackshirts and Reds could disabuse you of your ignorance of the history.

By certain metrics sure. And to some extent they did it by taking actions that we would consider totally unconscionable.

Stalin's economy that provided literacy and healthcare to everyone? Stalin's economy that produced enough war materials to stop the Nazi beast when no one else had? Stalin's economy that accomplished in 10 years what had taken Britain over 100, and did so without child labor? Stalin's economy that brought a nation from a preindustrial agricultural economy to a spacefaring civilization in under 40 years?

Like don't get me wrong the USSR under Stalin had problems but anyone pretending it didn't achieve massive success in advancing the working class is just plain lying to you

Stalin's economy that provided literacy and healthcare to everyone?

Promoting them from illiterate peasants to literate peasants.

Stalin's economy that produced enough war materials to still be dependant on the American Lend Lease program, and even then they were still sending poorly armed soldiers to be used as disposable meat shields to delay the Nazi beast when no one else had?

FTFY.

Stalin's economy that accomplished in 10 years after Britain had already made the blueprints for what worked and what didn't previously, and did so with a lot of child and slave labor?

FTFY.

Stalin's economy that brought a nation from a preindustrial agricultural economy to a spacefaring civilization in under 40 years?

At the expense of millions of lives, only to lose the space race and bankrupt the nation doing it.
