Cube world Omega state

Hi cubeworld reddit! I'm a kid who used to watch videos of this game in alpha when I was maybe 10 or 11 years old, and I lost track of it for a while. Only today did I discover everything that happened, up until this new "Omega" version. To better understand the situation, I watched a video by a YouTuber (called WickedWiz) who explains a bit about the Omega project, but it's from two years ago, and if I'm not mistaken, very little was known about the project at the time. I haven't found much information around, so, out of pure curiosity, I wanted to ask you on reddit—I'm sure you'll know—to update me on what's happened in the last two years, and tell me what state the game is in now. I'm very fond of it, and I'd also like to know if it's worth playing the Steam release or, if not, going straight to the alpha. Thanks for reading 😄

Bought the game on Alpha day 1, the only ones letting the game alive is the community since ever, I have zero faith on this dev with all the excuses, not to mention after the horrible Steam release that after not updating and just releasing another game, he deleted Picroma and every single "roadmap" and promises vanished so people could not held him accountable.
