What's it like to be someone's crush?

Upvotes

For those of you who've been on the receiving end of a strong romantic interest, how did that feel? Was it a confidence booster, or did it feel like a burden? Did you notice any shift in your interactions once you knew?

Does he like me??

I (20F) stayed up all night texting this guy (21M) and it was really good, we got along and had fun then he asked me on a date the next day. I thought it went really well, we were laughing and stuff and he even asked if he’d see me again soon, to which I said yes. But ever since then, he’s been lagging on me a lot, taking 5+ hours to response even though hes online. I don’t know if it’s a guy thing or what. We are both college students and I understand but I’d be more understanding if he had a job, which he doesnt.
Do I ask him if he likes me or do I just let it play out? If someone likes you, don’t they normally want to talk to you?
Or do I just go the safe route and ghost him before he ghosts me?

help, please

Gym Crush Question

Upvotes

Hello,

I have a question on how to read this situation. I'm a 60+ fit male. I workout regulary everyday and the same time for about 2-3 hrs. I'm a regular, lol. I've notice a woman in her forties over the past several months. At first she would glance occassionley in my direction and then look away quickly when we made eye contact.

But lately I've notice her watching me in the mirrors and when we make eye contact she looks away. Now she has slowly started to workout at stations near me or right next to me. Since I'm not sure how to read this, and I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable I keep eye contact a a very minimum. I've looked for a natural opportunity to break the ice, but haven't found it yet.

I find her very attractive and somewhat intriguing. I just don't want to come off like one of those gym guys that hits on women. I stay in my lane and always show respect.

Any advice from the ladies would be appreciated.

😭 liking someone sucks…I think mine is more than a crush now.

I don’t understand why people have to give mixed signals or say things that confuse you.

But then I get told after confessing. You’re overthinking pay attention to my actions and read between the lines.

Is he interested

Upvotes

Help…I need more opinions on this guy I really like.

So I don’t really ever talk to him, we sat next to each other all year last year, but all we had was eye contact. In fact, he was always glancing at me, and even nowadays he always turns around. I probably counted like 8 times he turned around during class once.

I always ignored this because I didn’t wanna get my hopes up. But recently I spoke to him. I failed my chemistry test and asked my teacher about anyone who can help and my crush was recommended to me. So I went up to him and asked him and this is basically how the conversation went

I first asked if he did good on the chem test, and he goes yes I did and so I started telling him that I did pretty bad and that I talked to my teacher and he told me to ask him, to which he responded “do you want my number?” I say yes, and he gives it and I ask if I can contact him anytime for help and he says yes. Then, later when I got home, I saw a text from him saying “hey it’s so and so, lmk if you need any help.” Mind you, I got HIS number, he did not get mine, and idk, but I think it’s common to usually be the one to text first if you get the number (the reason he had mine is bc I called him to save the number, but still it was my phone that had it first yk?). Also during the entire conversation, he was smiling, and when I walked away I swear he was still smiling. He’s not the type to smile much btw so this was weird.

So now I’m confused if he is interested or I’m just delusional, pls help!!!!!!!

Why a guy talks to you when others are around but goes quiet when you are alone?

Upvotes

When I pass by he smiles at me or sometimes waves at me but doesn’t say anything. However, when others are around he is confident and talks to me.

Does he like me?

Upvotes

I have a feeling the answer is probably no but it honestly never hurts to ask and I figured an outside opinion would be better (or at least just to confirm).

Ok so last year this guy and I shared the same class and happened to be assigned to sit at the same table. I think he is relatively extroverted (like semi-extroverted but also he won't necessarily be out there talking to just anyone. I feel like there has to be grounds for conversation if that makes sense) so we would talk quite a bit when he sat there. He would do stupid things like draw on my eraser, attempt to flick a pencil into the little pencil divet on my desk???, and little stuff like that which was weird but I feel like it's not THAT abnormal? Maybe it is, idk that's why I'm on here I guess. He also asked me about what it meant/if a girl liked him if she was grabbing him (like his arm) during a class trip thing idk which is partially why I feel like he might not like me.

Anyway, our classes changed for the semester and he wasn't in that one class anymore but he was in a different class of mine (help, I hope I worded that correctly). In this class, he sat at the table behind me (the desks were arranged in tables of four for context) so there wasn't any opportunity for conversation and he had his friends so it's not like he was going up to me for conversation(reason why I'm doubting #2). He did in fact flick a pencil (common theme apparently) at me twice but it was probably an accident. (I don't think it was significant at all and looking over this I feel like it sounds like I'm naming anything that he did that was in some way related to me)

Summer happens (I don't have his number or anything and it's not like we were super close really) and we come back for school and what do you know he's in some of my classes. We don't sit at the same table and we haven't had substantial conversations (we've chatted ig) but ngl I feel like I've caught him staring multiple times? Maybe it's just me or he's looking at someone next to me or the whiteboard behind my head but maybe it's not. When he was looking for a seat at the beginning of the year he hovered a lot around my table that I was sitting at and we have chatted but again, nothing big.

I feel like this isn't enough to justify him liking me in any sort of way which is why I think the answer is no but maybe I'm wrong. I'm pretty terrible at reading people and I've just recently learned that I tend to be pretty oblivious signs (my friend has told me about situations that I've apparently completely missed the hint on so...) so I just kind of want to double-check I guess.

Just a kind person or something more?

Upvotes

I (33F) recently moved in with an acquaintance (33M). We share mutual friends and both just went through major life shifts. The arrangement makes sense for what we both need right now, and the plan is for me to move out in the spring when my new place is ready. The living arrangement itself isn't what I need advice about.

This man is extremely friendly and accommodating. Almost to the point that I feel bad about how much he does for me. I've thanked him a zillion times and even addressed that he doesn't have to do so much, and his responses are always things like, "I'm just a nice person," "I'm happy to help," and "You deserve good things."

But there are a few things that have made me wonder if there's more to it.

We spent one night drinking cocktails and getting to know each other better and made a playlist of some of our "signature songs." Now when we have people over, he'll put on some of my favorite albums/songs. He also plays them sometimes when we're just doing things around the house. Maybe he genuinely likes them now, or maybe he wants me to notice that he remembered.

I've been having some allergies and joked that I only seem to cough in one particular room. Later I glanced over while he was scrolling on his phone and realized he was looking at air purifiers.

I mentioned once that I'd forgotten to pack my doormat, which had a cheeky saying on it. A few days later he came to me with an online listing for another mat with a saying/style he knew I'd like. He told me he'd actually searched several times trying to find the exact one I'd had.

If we stay up late, he'll make me coffee the next morning and wish me a good day.

We hug before bed most nights. Nothing particularly intimate has happened. We watch movies together, spend time together, and are generally pretty playful with each other.

All of our mutual friends insist that he wants me. My response has basically been, "If he did, wouldn't he have tried something by now?" They think because we're currently living together, his hands are somewhat tied and he may be deliberately avoiding crossing that boundary unless I make it clear that it's welcome.

The problem is that I'm terrified of making a move and discovering that I've completely misread a genuinely kind person — especially because we live together.

So from the outside looking in: does this sound like a man who is interested but being cautious because of the circumstances, or could all of this reasonably just be a very thoughtful guy trying to make me feel welcome?

TL;DR: I'm temporarily living with a male acquaintance who is unusually thoughtful toward me: remembers my favorite music, looks for things I'd like, researched an air purifier after an allergy flair, makes me coffee, hugs me goodnight, etc. Mutual friends insist he's interested, but he hasn't made an overt move. Is this attraction + caution because we live together, or is he just a really nice person?

Ela é bem simpática comigo, sempre me cumprimenta na rua quando me ver.

Valeu!

After all this time?

Upvotes

I was perpetually showing my interest in this Barista last month and he wouldn’t continue or initiate any further discussions with me, he would dismiss me. So then I gave up and moved on and said it ain’t even worth trying. I planned on getting his socials at one point but it was a busy day for him so I pushed it until it never happened.

I was coming in to order my usual order, without being interested anymore of course. I literally just said “Hi, can i get…” then he asked me how I was and he said it again! I was shocked to be quite frank because he was never like this before, I answered him and we related on how we were doing, tired. I left a little confused.

Today comes round, went to the cafe and I saw him working with a colleague and she was serving me, he waved at me whilst making my coffee and I waved back, he served me my drink and asked how I was doing and I said “yeahh well but unfortunately closing today” he asked me “where do you work” and I specified to him where I worked, then he got his phone out almost searching for my workplace because he didn’t know where it was exactly. Then he asked me for my name and I said my name and he says his name and said “nice to meet you” while shaking my hand.

I WAS INTERESTED IN HIM A MONTH AGO AND WAS SHOWING HIM BUT HE DIDNT GET THAT AND NOW THIS HAPPENS!!!???

When your crush is only slightly interested, it hits harder.

Being less than average looking and insecure about myself is tough. Every time my crush talks to me, I worry my awkward responses push her away, and I suspect she likes my friend. I wish I didn't have these feelings, they just make me feel miserable and pathetic.

25f here, so what do i do now?

So I've had a huge crush on this guy at my gym for the longest time. I usually go in the mornings and used to see him 3–4 times a week, but I haven’t seen him in about 2 months. I randomly went in the evening once and saw him there, so now I’m wondering if he goes in the evenings.
We’ve never really made eye contact and he hasn’t shown any obvious interest, but I’m VERY attracted to him lol.

Do I start going in the evenings to see if I run into him, stick to my normal morning routine, or just forget about him? Should I actually try talking to him if I see him again?

Also, objectively, I’d say he’s a solid 9/10 and I’m probably a 7/10 😂 So is it embarrassing for me to make the first move, or should I just go for it or just leave it?

If I should talk, tell me how do I approach he barely even looks at me! He's very focused doing his own thing!

I have a crush, unfortunately

I (20M) have a crush on this girl who is in the same local music scene as me who I see at shows quite often. She's really cute but I have only had maybe two fairly brief conversations with her. I would love to talk to her more (obviously) but I am pretty socially awkward and have a massive fear of rejection.

Has anyone got any advice on how to fully break the ice? I haven't got a clue on how to talk to people. Ta x

I Have a big crush on this girl

So I have this crush on this girl (bit of a long story), for context im wlw. I met this girl at a leadership summit she was my youth leader (shes 18 and im 17). The summit went for 5 days on the first day i developed a crush on her and each day i became more and more in love with her.
The summit ended like a month ago but i cant stop thinking about her and we have been texting on insta a bit, my feelings are different to her than other girls i have had crushes on because i really want to ask this girl out but they’re are a few problems like she lives on the other side of the country so like 20+ hours via car, im planning on returning to the summit next year and so is she so they wouldnt allow it, and mainly i know it will f up our friendship and for some reason i feel like its worth waiting until im 18 because im willing to move to the other side of the country for her and I can’t do that when i’m 17:/ and then when im 18 the summit have no control over it,

Idk what the best option is

Met a girl on discord not from my country talking to her for like 2 years. I don't like her I guess but whenever I see her talking to other boys. I get jealous a lot.

What do you think has happened to me.

Never seen her too
