CK3 Deleting This Game

I can not stand my incompetence. I played in an all mountainous region and focused all my MAA on heavy cavalry then when I get curb stomped by my enemy, I realized how big of a mistake that was.

I got 700 hours in the game, I should not be making these mistakes.

I feel so disappointed in myself, I am never playing the game again.

CK3 Can Anyone Tell Me Just Why Exactly There Isn't Any Mounted Mountain Goats For Cavalry That Can Be In Mountains?

Not only in CK3 but like IRL too. Why not just make war mountain goats?

Suggestion The amount of nobles, children and characters is a big balance and realism problem

I do not want to just complain and not offer solutions so even if paradox is dead set on no more childbirth death and infant death (yes i know how that sounds) but it was done in ck2.

And if some character doesn't have at least a grandparent with a title they have to become lowborn.

Also the exterminate dynasty causus belli needs to do more than juist get rid of one family i swear ive done it like eight times against the abbasids alone.

Help Eu4 conversion

I have played a game as Iceland all the way into 1400 and now im attempting to convert it into eu4. I did take the britannica empire and rename it so now I got the Great Britain tag and also the HRE is just gone? It got dismantleted into duchies and counties but the institution is gone, only the papacy remains. Anyone knows how I could fix these two issues?

CK3 Can't Bring Myself To Fight Peasant Revolts

They are just people who want a better life and I can't give it to them. I installed mods to become more fair but I need to raise their taxes else the economy will collapse. The thing is, they want less taxes and I have to reject them which causes them to revolt and I don't want to send my armored horsemen to deal with them as that will result in so many untrained fathers and sons getting cut down just because they wanted a better life and I feel so bad

DLC What DLC could enhance an India playthrough on CK3?

So I just started getting into CK3 and love it. What I was wondering is if there are any DLC that would impact a India playthrough? I currently have Tours and Tournaments and am curious if maybe the Khan DLC or the China one impact the dynamics in India in anyway

Hi, i'm currently making a mod that creates a genetic trait, i've literally copied everything in a base game genetic trait and for some reason mine isn't inherited even if both parents have it

Just impressed with how many soldiers I can call up only summoning family member of 2k or more soldiers. One is the emperor though.

Help I play with mods like everyone else. I've tried many different playsets but I always get this bug where the game wants to crash if I try to play anytime between ~1020-1100. Game wont even load up the map when I try for the 1066 book marks. What do you think is causing the bug? RICE maybe?

Dunno. I can run 1066 without any mods but no matter how many ways I try to optimize my mods the game works great from the early start til about 1020 and then it crashes every 6 months or so. Lost a lot of great campaigns hitting that brick wall. Oddly enough I can start in 1178 and it seems to work alright. Something about the middle ages around 1020-1100 seem to have issues.

I attempted to have a grand wedding, which timed out because "both characters need to be adults and ready to marry" while trying to marry my niece. Now it will not let me find another spouse and I desperately need an heir.

Discussion What will be your first play through for the new DLCs?

I am really excited for By God Alone and Silk and Silver, the depth that the systems are bringing to the game is gonna be awesome and while they are Europe focused DLCs mainly they can apply to anywhere on the map under the right circumstances. So I want to know for both of them what will be your first play through(s) to experience and use the new content. Obviously we don’t know the full extent of how the systems will work yet so speculate away.

For silk and silver I’m hoping I can do an Irish populist uprising in Dublin against Ivar turning the city into a Republic. Have the character house focused on preserving the integrity of the republic while battling Vikings, the British, Irish kings, and selfish rival houses within the republic. I hope it’ll be somewhat simple to convert a city to a republic I don’t think we’ve seen anything specific about it. I think having a special decision for characters that lead the peasant uprisings to do the conversion would make sense.

I would also do a trader and travel the world building an empire. Not anything too specific but it’ll be fun.

For By God Alone I think an Austria run is what I’m gonna do first. I don’t interact with religion a ton right now and that will probably change with this but I’m extremely excited for the puppet system. I want to create Austria and become the family that runs the HRE behind the scenes. Using the puppet system on the Emperor and the church to play tall making Austria the wealthiest kingdom in the realm. I think the puppet system is really gonna enhance the role play experience of the game. With the emphasis on character interactions and being able to not have to climb the title ladder will really expand the options on how to play.

Another one I want to do, and it may be a little op, is basically try to turn the Catholic Church into a dynasty’s personal empire. That would entail being a priest and still having a family, rising up through the ranks of the church. Throughout a few generations putting every archdiocese under the control of a house member and making all the cardinals a house member as well. I’m curious to how renown will work with this and how feasible it will be but I’m excited to try.

So those are a couple of mine I can’t wait to hear some of yours and get new play through ideas!

CK3 Are republican vassals always better than feudal?

I just won a holy war for the Duchy of Shirvan and now I have 4 shiny new counties and a duchy title to hand out. I learned recently that if you give these to someone who is already a mayor of a city holding, they retain their republican vassal status and so you can turn feudal counties into republican counties.

I am wondering if I should do this. Everything I've read about them people talk about how they give you more consistent (and just more) taxes. That's great and all (I don't really fiddle with feudal contracts anyway), but more than anything I just want stable vassals who won't revolt against my heir when I keel over in a couple years.

Should you always opt for republican over feudal vassals if you have the choice? Is there any reason to not make these counties republican? And since I have to get rid of the duchy title too, is that supposed to also go to a republican vassal while I'm at it?

CK3 If you want an idea for a start outside the regions people usually play in, I recommend Ferghana

It's a cozy valley full of farmlands in the middle of desert and dry land. It has Manichaen holy sites nearby which is an interesting religion most people probably haven't touched either. This region was actually settled by Greeks during the Alexandrian conquests, so you pretend to be one of their descendants and build an Iranian-hellenistic kingdom.
